We always stay here when in Oxford because it ticks all the boxes. The location is perfect in the centre of town, the staff are super friendly, the beds are some of the comfiest ever and the building is beautiful!

Lovely Victorian style hotel with a comfortable room. Everything very clean and tidy. Reception service was efficient and friendly. Service in the bar was disappointing since we only had two drinks and the bar staff managed to do something wrong on both. The cooked breakfast would have been much better had the food been hot or even warm. The selection of foods on offer was very good.

For the price I paid this was not good value for money. Expensive, small room. I needed photo ID to check in, apparently policy, although nobody could show me the policy. Luckily I had my drivers licence with me. Unpleasant desk staff and really I would not go back

Although on arrival we were told we had been upgraded, the room was so hot we couldn't stay in it. The staff had brought in portable AC units as the room hadn't been used for 3 days (it had been 30+ degrees) - after 5 hours the AC units had made no difference at all. They did move us to another room later that evening without quibbling but with little acknowledgement of the fact that it would have been unbearable to stay there in the first place. There was no water provided in the rooms on a very warm evening. I managed to procure a bottle from the bar staff during a late-night fire alarm! In the bar the next day I ordered a cold meats platter with bread as we were on a schedule - it took over 25 minutes to arrive with the result that we had to bolt it in 10 minutes before our appointment. Other than that staff were polite if clearly under pressure. At over £450 a night the hotel is expensive for what it offers - rooms were sparsely kitted out: e.g. no vanity kit, no bottled water, no fridge/minibar. None of the little touches that make it feel like a "luxury" stay. I would return if rooms were more affordable (and if my room was air conditioned!).

There was a problem with the hot water, so we had luke-warm showers for the week. The hotel is very nice, perfect location. The staff were individually nice, but they seemed under-trained for that type of hotel.

Service left much to be desired. After my stay, there was an unknown and unexpected charge on my credit card. The front desk was completely unresponsive when I called. The person I spoke to - Manish - never responded and no one picked up the phone after. So if you're staying at this hotel, watch your credit card for charges and hope you won't need any after-stay service.

Unfortunately we have returned from the Hotel today, so very disappointed that we had no hot water throughout our stay. Not great when you can’t have a hot shower before going out for the evening nor getting up in the morning. Not what I would expect from a 5 star Hotel. The staff did try to help, but they could not offer any solution. So disappointed

This was my 3rd visit to the Randolph in the past year. Convenient location, friendly attentive staff, and clean. Very comfortable bed. Strong wifi. Small details- I love the towel warmer and toiletries. Negatives- this trip the hotel was full and the showers never got hot enough. The towels aren't as soft/plush as I like. The price has nearly doubled but it could've been that it was a weekend in May and Oxford was busy with graduations. If a view matters to you ask. This time my window looked at a wall.
