The room across the hall was being worked on for my 3 day stay.
The door was left open most of the time and having it shut a majority of the time would have been preferred.

We needed a hotel to stop and sleep at while driving from Nice to Paris. Dak hotel was okay for the price paid. The city Avallon is dead and most shops are closed. There is no restaurant at the hotel, but you can order breakfast. The breakfast was okay although a bit pricey for 4 people.

We were not asked online if we wanted a non-smoking room and we did not think to ask as we have not run into a smoked-in room for so long. We chose the hotel due to price as hotels downtown were much more expensive. We don't think it was worth the price we paid and in hindsight we would rather have paid more to get a nicer hotel.It is several miles from the center of town without much near it. It did have a great breakfast.

Stopped over at this hotel on the way to Paris. A little out of the way. Quick and pleasant check-in process. Room was average but we just need a quick rest and move on. Secure location and plenty of parking space.

A wonderful place just a short distance from the motorway .The receptionist recommended a restaurant in the town "le Cheval Blanc" which turned out to be an excellent choice . We will come back here again .

Great staff make the difference and this Hotel has that. Anything we wanted they did their best to provide, printing some emails - no problem. Help with luggage - no problem. You might also want to know that there are some excellent restaurants at reasonable prices in walking distance.

We weren't sure when we turned up but as soon as we went in, we were made to feel very welcome. Room was great, pool was lovely and breakfast fantastic. Would definitely go again.

very nice people run this hotel. Room was ok. Breakfast was typical European food. Coffee typically bad but nobody in Europe has good coffee. Pool was not heated which was a dissappointment to our kids.

A useful location for a stopover en route to the south of France. The hotel is within walking distance of the town centre and several restaurants - we went to Le chapeau rouge and had a very tasty and good value dinner. The rooms are basic and the bathrooms are those plastic pod type pre-fitted units which are not great for insulating sounds but everything worked and it was neat and clean. The only problem we had was the bed which was truly awful - it was hard and had no padding so you felt every spring. The pillows were either thin (almost non-existant) or hard bolster type. A shame really because a comfortable bed is the only absolute essential for a hotel in my opinion!!

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I cannot fault them at all on their customer service. They were very approachable and helped straight away when we couldn't get the telly to work. There was no fuss or resentment and it was sorted out straight away. The bed was fairly comfortable and the room was clean. There's a safe place to leave the car and it is only a short walk into town.

This was a nice little hotel - the staff were very friendly and made the extra effort to walk me to my room and show me around before releasing the key to me. The room and hotel were clean and functional and two of the three staff I dealt with were able to speak English which helped me greatly. We were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast for nine Euros (great value and varied). If I were to visit Avallon again I would definitely stay here again. BTW - if you're a Freeway traveler in Europe you may want to take a different route back to the A6 than what you came out on ... the D highways here are really beautiful.
