We used Granville as our hub to explore the Normandy area in France. We rented a car and stayed at Hotel des Bains for five nights. The room was clean and comfortable. We had our adult son along so we book the "Superior Family Room side sea view" which was excellent. Our son had his own area with a privacy curtain. Our balcony looked over the sea. We had a great stay.

The bed is very comfortable. We had a nice sea view. The rooms whilst not big are well equipped. The staff were friendly. The only downside is the nearby nightclub which did impact our sleep on a Saturday night, Sunday was ok. If you have ear plugs it should not deter you from staying at the hotel.

The stay was awful. I called in advance requesting a lower level floor and we were put on the fourth level. Room was not clean, smelled very musty. The worst part was the noise from other guests from 1 until 4 in the morning. Yelling, banging and knocking on doors. This was the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had and I’m so disappointed as Granville was an exciting stop on our trip. I never write reviews but needed to write this one.

we liked our room and you said it was a courtyard view but we in fact looked out on the roof of what we think was the restaurant and 6 feet opposite, their neighbours which was pretty ugly!

Bed confortable - room deco very depressing (dark). No kettle to make tea or coffee, no fridge with drinks (?) and very hot only one small window to open. 1 receptionist was polite but the other one not welcoming at all. I tried to contact Hotel a week in advance to ask to change from 2 persons to one - every time I called the phone was put down. I tried to explain situation when I arrived but did not try to help me eventhough i paid a double room for only me. Lastly I had to wait 3 pm to get my room. A long time to wait after a long trip.

Hotel is just along from the buses which is great. Not far from all the shops and market. The two receptionist are lovely and helpful. Only thing is the noise of the many seagulls on the roofs.

Even it is an old renovated hotel, it is very nice. I like that they have a restaurant on site. I like the location. Unfortunately, there is no parking. Public parking may be free but not available almost all the time. Taxi is not available without prior reservation. WiFi is a huge problem for iPhone users. No internet connection at all.

Vær opmærksom på, at der ikke er aircondition eller en loftfane, og at man om sommeren pga. varmen er nødt til at sove med åbent vindue. dette er ikke et problem i sig selv, men blev meget problematisk, da der ligger en natklub over for hotellet, og der derfor er en del larm fra gaden sent om natten. Vi blev forstyrret flere gange af personale, der bankede på døren og spurgte til rengøring til trods for, at vi havde hængt et "forstyr ikke"-skilt på døren. Ellers venlig betjening og pænt værelse med lækkert badeværelse og rigeligt plads.

The location couldn't be better. The hotel is right on the water and the rooms are nice. Our room was quiet and we had a wonderful view. Lunch was superb but breakfast was sparse and disappointing. I was surprised that the eggs weren't boiled. You're provided with raw eggs to deal with first thing in the morning. The selection of cheeses was 2. No honey. Parking is not available. You are instructed to drop your bags at the curb and find something on the street or near the port. We were assured that parking at the port is safe because of the police station there. However, this entails getting a cab or hoofing it which can be tiring especially when traveling with pets or children. If you want a lovely hotel with nice views and great lunches, this is the place. Pets are welcome so we were very grateful to have the booking, but the lack of parking was stressful.
