Really enjoyed the terrace room -- it had everything we needed to be comfortable and it was nice to step out of the room onto the little terrace adjacent to the garden (despite the less-than-desirable weather). The staff here are very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is clean and well-maintained. We hope to return!

Good location close to main route north. Friendly staff, comfortable beds, lovely views over the sea and free parking but an awkward down hill walk for elderly people to get down to the beautiful seaside village where parking is impossible.

Great small hotel within a very well renovated old school building. Nice features if the old school retained and decorated. Our room looked into the old playground area that is now planted. Although the hotel is quite close to the main coast road there was no issue with road noise. Would have appreciated some tea/coffee facilities within the room or at least the ability to get hot water. Good breakfast at extra cost.Parking was available but not 'secure'but on the side of the road or a small car park. 10 minute walk to the bars and restaurants of Guethary and easily able to walk to several small beaches.

Loved everything about the hotel! 5 stars!! Patrick and his wife are so welcoming and friendly. The hotel is very clean and updated rooms. Wonderful amenities and lovely rose garden to relax in. Convenient location close to bus stop and can walk to beach and restaurants. Breakfast was awesome with lots of variety and excellent coffee highly recommended! Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Balea is one of our favourite hotels. It's an old school, and this is reflected in the functional, simple design. The hotel offers just the things and features you need, nothing you don't. Location is great with walking distance to the sea and restaurants in Guethary. Free parking which is good. A nice little courtyard for breakfast or a glass of wine in the afternoon. Some rooms also has space for your surfboard. Breakfast is is focused on quality rather than quantity. Service is warm and personal. Perfect home away from home. Highly recommended.

A quiet and unassuming treasure. It has easy parking included and a lovely little courtyard to enjoy. The rooms were of a much higher standard than we expected. Bathroom was large and shower was hot. Bedroom was well appointed and bed was comfy.
We paid 9 Euros each for breakfast which was a decent version of the Continental buffet style.
All in all this was a very good overnight stop which we will go to again if we are in the area again.

You can almost hear the rustle of papers and children at play in this former primary school turned hotel. The rooms are clean and well appointed, breakfast is tasty and the staff are warm and friendly.
A shortish walk to the beach and main village - made it the perfect escape for a long weekend.
