Lovely quaint hotel. Staff attentive and helpful.
As per other reviews yes there are no lifts second floor rooms are a slight hike up. Yes the rooms could do with upgrading but for what you pay for a night and an ease of access to the port no complaints from us.
We had a family quadruple room, good size but really warm room, no air con small windows but lots of road noise when open

Simple hotel. Clean, comfortable bed, strong shower and the food in the evening was great. Will definitely use again for ferry as you are there in less than 5 minutes.

On arrival we were immediately told "no breakfast" which was really disappointing since we had a long journey ahead of us and would have liked at least a coffee to start the day! We ended up at a nearby bar and bought coffee and fortunately, the last 2 croissants they had.
The room did not smell very pleasant and we would not stay again.

Nicely painted room #16 with dormer window looking out to sea and ferry.
Unfortunately the hotel WiFi doesn't reach to this room, but you can access it from the lobby area.
Note that the toilet seat slips off and needs some fixing.

We stayed one night before our trip and one night after. The first one the room was was clean but tatty with a window that we could not close and peeling wallpaper in places. The second which was last night was bad , really tiny with tatty wallpaper and a very very uncomfortable bed and i took great objection to having a water proof mattress protecter on the bed , i found it insulting and unable to sleep on it so myself and my husband sat up most of the night, plus the bed was supposed to be a double but was really small with a dip in the middle. As we have a small dog i dont expect a five star room but at least a three this was a zero. We definately will not be returning
