Our two week holiday at Le Goyen was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. Our room 217 was large and comfortable with a large bathroom. The view over the harbour and town was a bonus and it was interesting to watch the fishing boats and yachts coming and going. The breakfasts were delicious with a wide range of foods, the carousels of several local honeys and configures were remarkable. We had two evening meals in the restaurant and both were superb, the food was imaginative and each dish when served was described by the waiting staff. Wine was good and reasonably priced. The cheese chariot was amazing with the variety of cheeses (16) all in peak condition. The restaurant staff were professional and not intrusive or fussy. Some evenings we sat in the bar area for relaxed drinks and gourmet accompanying tit-bits. Of special mention was the trouble taken to find a bottle of Pineau de Charente. Parking was free and conveniently just by the hotel entrance. Perhaps the exterior of the hotel is showing some wear, but that is not surprising when it is exposed to sea wind and storms. However the interior is smart and the new lift good. “Thank you” to everyone!

Visited after 15 years. Beautiful location and as unspoilt as ever. Hotel has changed from old fashioned grandeur to more ‘ holiday inn’ style rooms. Had lost character. No carpets on floor in bedrooms rooms instead rather odd plastic type flooring. No baths in hotel. Balcony lovely and tea & coffee in the room plus a fridge. Restaurant is good particularly for amuse bouche and desserts. Main course a bit underwhelming - fish and a dusting of veg but very pretty. The view from the restaurant is however wonderful.

My husband and I were staying at this hotel in August, the weekend of old boats reunion. It was a night of street concert and fireworks. Huge crowd gathered in front of the hotel. The problem was that our room at the first floor was looking at the back of public restroom. The street under our balcony became a continuation of that public toilet. We understand, it has nothing to do with the hotel. The hotel was almost empty at that moment. It was very upsetting we were not placed on the higher floor on the opposite side of the building. Next morning we found out that there is also a loading zone for hotel's restaurant truck right under our balcony. During the night we were embarrassed by noise coming from other room. The problem was absence of sound proofing. Won't recommend this place.

We stayed there in Aug 2011. The weather was superb and the hotel was OK. A little expensive for what it was. Rooms compact. Needs a bit of paint and carpets cleaned. The location cannot be faulted but get a room high up. Better view and less road noise. Bollongarie only 1 minute away giving fresh croissants at a Euro. Beets 12 Euros for breakfast. Yes we might go there again simply becuase it is places well with amazing views.
