Was wonderfully surprised at the small hotel. It was perfect for a stay while we rode the la Loire Velo route.

Hard to fault. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly (and spoke much better English than our rusty French). Our room with en suite shower/WC was clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast buffet was tasty and generous, and our hosts went out of their way to accommodate dietary restrictions. Access when reception was closed was straightforward, and advice on local facilities was available - all at very reasonable cost.

The stay was very pleasant, the room is a pretty small and the shower entrance looks like a closet door, but nothing to worry about for a short stay. the area is beautiful and there are lots of restaurants around, just noticed that there are days almost everything is close and on the other days things close early. the bottom line: very recommended for couples on short stays.

A very beautiful and clearly old hotel set in an amazing medieval village. Hotel was very basic with lots of character. Some aspects need updating. Very dark bathroom decor and some squashed insects on the walls. Parking almost impossible near hotel but available a short walk away on the main road.

Was once a lovely old inn, but has seen better days; it feels more than a little tired and could do with some redecoration and renovation. Walls and ceilings are thin and facilities sparse. However, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was good.

Hotel needs a bit of air. I know it is a 2 star but our room was cramped hot with stale air. We were not allowed to leave window or shutters open due to bugs. The rooms are poorly maintained.

The host was great, checking us in quickly and providing a secure space for our touring bicycles. The hotel is beautiful, located on a corner on one of the main streets in Beaugency. The room was small but efficient and had all the amenities we needed. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and the shower perfect. The breakfast was classic French and the breads and pastries were all fresh and in some cases still warm. The hotel is centrally located to take in all the beautiful sights, shopping and restaurants Beaugency has to offer. We would definitely recommend Le Relais des Templiers and will stay there again on our next visit to Beaugency.

It’s a small hotel. Everything is like a 3 star should be. We were there in a heat wave so our room was hot. No air conditioning but a good fan helped keep the room a little cool.

When we travel, we road trip. We do not stay in one place very often. Our proprietor was very friendly and helpful. We brought our son along with us because he speaks fluent French. Just know, outside of Paris, English is not as common. This hotel is older but is very clean and very comfortable. Our room was on the third floor and we were very appreciative of the fan they provided since our stay was in July. We would definitely come again!

The staff were so helpful especially with parking. They also had ready a list of suggested possible eating places and with a map. The town of Beaugency appears to be closed on Mondays. The banks and most of the shops were shut. There are plenty of ATM's available.

This hotel was good value for money. It is in a great location in the centre of Beaugency, close to lovely restaurants, interesting historical places and the Loire river. The hotel made us feel welcome and was clean but the decor is tired and in need of improvement.

The proprietors of this this charming hotel are a very sweet French couple who take the comfort of their guests as their first priority. Their English is limited and our French equally limited, but we managed to communicate and even had some delightful conversations about local history and our travels on the Loire. The breakfast for an additional 9.50 Euros was well worth the cost; with plentiful bread, cheese, meat, pastries, fruit, yogurt, and cereal, as well as help-yourself coffee and tea, in a lovely setting. The castle museum and an ancient Romanesque tower (once assaulted by the forces of Joan of Arc) are literally right outside the door. Medieval town, fine restaurants, and amazing cathedrals all in walking distance. Beautiful river park and stunning photography opportunities. We loved our stay. The price is very affordable and we really hated to leave.

This is definitely a budget hotel. Small room, nothing fancy, surprisingly decent-feeling mattress and acceptably clean. The gentleman who seems to run the place (he was there at check-in) was very friendly. His English was very spotty though. This town is not nearly as lovely as points further West in Loire, but we needed a place further East so we could drop off our rental in Paris the next morning with a shorter drive. That said, this hotel was right in the middle of the town, so very convenient if this is the town you want to see. They say there is parking. And technically, there is. The manager gladly showed us his garage that could fit a few cars, if we wanted. We didn't even bother because all the street parking within a few blocks of the hotel is unrestricted. Perhaps this could be more of a problem in peak tourist season. We were there in early April. All in all, a good bargain that meets basic accommodation needs. And the wifi worked!

Super people so very helpful. Printed out and map and directions to the place we were going to, without being asked. At breakfast I asked where to buy some batteries, but I was told that the shop wouldn't be open until 9am ,we wanted to be away by 8 am.Before we had finished breakfast they had been out and bought some batteries and put them on the table for me.Nothing seemed to be too much trouble to make sure the guests had a good time.
