Yelo Jean Médecin Hotel, Sonder by Marriott Bonvoy

I booked this hotel hoping for a clean, professional and restful experience. Instead, I arrived to a room with hair on the toilet seat and pillows with black stains. After a long journey, this was unacceptable. The hotel doesn’t clean rooms daily unless requested in advance — something I was only told at check-in. There’s no phone in the room, so I had to contact Expedia. They arranged for a room change, but when I went to reception, there was no apology, just silent key handover — as if I was bothering them. That night, I heard disturbing noises — not just drainage, but knocking and movement. I recorded the sounds, and in the middle of filming, the TV turned on by itself. The remote was far from me, which the video clearly shows. I reported this and was told a male staff member would come up. As a solo female traveller, I declined. I offered the video as evidence, and was told “we checked the camera, it’s probably from outside.” That response left me speechless. Expedia tried to secure a partial refund, but the hotel refused, citing their cancellation policy. How could I have known what I was walking into? I trusted their website. I feel completely let down. I approached this whole situation respectfully, and was treated with indifference. For a large hotel, I expected basic courtesy. I left feeling unsafe, disappointed, and disrespected.

Beautiful small hotel tucked away on one of the main streets in Nice by the train station. Super convenient and very friendly staff.

Friendly staff and great location, perfect for day trips to Eze, Monaco, Antibes. Overall, very pleased with my stay!

Nice property but even better staff. Easy to communicate with, knowledgeable and very friendly! Room was clean and had everything you could need.

Lovely hotel. Love the concept and the decor. Had problems with the first room but the Manager authorised an upgrade to a King Room as the same style room I paid for wasn’t available. Then had a miscommunication with a member of the restaurant staff but the Manager listened to me point of view and carried out Service Recovery. It would be hard to beat the Manager’s service from the heart delivery.

Very cute and walkable but so loud at night, the church bell rings every hour

The property and surroundings are great. But there are no side tables on either side of the bed which was challenging. The AC did not work in the room. Requiring to give 24 hours notice to get the room cleaned is a bit much as I would not know in advance if I wanted it cleaned or not. I would only stay at the location again if I had no other choice. The staff was friendly.

Very nice room, it was also included coffee/tea/chocolate and water from machines in restaurant-room 24/7. (Glad we didn't choose breakfast as it looked a bit minimal and boring)

Tiny room with the open shower directly behind the bed. Comfortable for a night but no room to spread out so longer than that and my wife and I might have had some disagreements!

Misleading advertisement and photos on their ads on Expedia. The staff very unfriendly and not helpful. No access to the front entrance of the hotel driving (tramway st). No adequate driving and parking guidance and explanations for findg the property driving. I drove around for an hour to find the property following google map not knowing you can't drive to the street the hotel is on it. It was even very difficult to find a park spot even few blocks further to walk to the hotel to check in. Eventually I had to risk parking somewhere on the street violating no parking sign leaving my flashers blinking to run to the street ask people how to get to the hotel. Aftet finding the property asked them about their parking lot they gave me an address one block further in a very narrow street with a very narrow gate that you can barely drive through after few time back and forth while pedestrians and other cars on the street waiting impatiently. Not only that you have to call the reception to open the gate for you when you get there and because it take awhile to drive back and forth the gate keeps closing automatically, you have to keep the reception on call to keep asking them to reopen the gate. Super stressful. You can't imagin what i went through. And that's not all. I had to carry our suitcases walking back to hotel from their parking lot dragging them behind me on the long ramp of that horrible parking lot. No room service. Tiny shower, tiny sink, tiny toilet stall. Continued...

Great central location. Very friendly staff on checking in, checking out and throughout my stay. Very modern hotel, good value off peak rate. Lovely en-suite with powerful shower.

Excellent location in Nice - short walk from the train station, shopping and restaurants nearby. Easy walk to Place Massena and Promenade des Anglais. Great base for exploring Nice and the region.

Staff were fabulous very helpful and professional no language barrier they all spoke English. Hotel couldnt be more handy. Tram literally 5 mins away and main railway station just round the corner. Hotel in the perfect location would stay here again
