I had a lovely stay. Hotel is dated but spotless and comfortable. Room was good size with comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast is fantastic, European style with good variety, excellent coffee, and fresh honeycomb, which is a first for me. Patrick and the rest of the staff made it feel like home, and I could easily walk to everything from restaurants to tourist sites.

My stay in Ratingen was perfectly fine. I have no complaints. The taxi to the airport is expensive and there's a €5 additional drop off charge so that should be taken into account, when "saving" money on accommodation near the airport.

This hotel was outstanding: a very large room with a separate sitting area, a very large bathroom with a great shower, lovely people at the front desk, and an excellent breakfast buffet. The only reasons for giving it 4 rather than 5 stars was noise and privacy. I don’t know if every room had the same problems, but ours (36) was on street level. I was constantly aware that people walking by might be able to look in and by 5:30 am I could already hear people walking by and talking. Furthermore, the entire area is completely under construction and by 7 am the work began.

The national pillow of Germany is mushy and flat. After six different hotels, I don't expect it to improve. Beyond this, the hotel is clean, economical and close to restaurants and shops. Rooms are small but functional. Bathroom is generous size for the room and price. Breakfast is basic, but tastes good.
