A true boutique hotel that pays attention to every last detail. We were made to feel so welcome at this family run hotel. They cater for all needs and nothing was too much trouble. The food is fine dining sourced locally with many homemade elements such as bread, ice cream and cake. Beautiful surroundings in a traditional Maniot tower - very relaxing. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful place, nested in East Mani, away from the tourist crowds. Citta dei Nicliani exceeded our expectations and was all we could dream for. This family run hotel feels more like a home than a hotel. You feel like you have been invited to stay at some friends house and the house happens to be a beautifully converted tower house dated from the 11th century. The owners are incredibly welcoming and make you feel at ease as soon as you enter the property. Whether you want to chill out in the property's stunning grounds or use this as a pad to explore all the surrounding areas of natural beauty, this place will make you happy. Food (all home cooked) is amazing and our room was superbly decorated and functional. We wished we could have stayed longer but will definitely return when we next come to Greece.

Tastefully decorated rooms. Very peaceful area Hosts are very welcoming and friendly. They speak very good English. Area is beautiful, very quiet, no shops, only a small supermarket as you enter into the village. But a short drive away are larger little towns. Has food offered for dinner. Very nice breakfast , individual plates given with superb choices. Homemade breads and omelettes. Would love to stay longer next time but great also for 1 night . I couldn’t fault anything. The owners have made a hidden treasure from an old castle ruin.

We could not have chosen a better place to experience the Mani. Absolutely everything about Citti dei Nicliani was top notch - the hoteliers were warm and welcoming making you feel as if you were a guest in their home. The estate was simply magical - a restored traditional Mani tower complex - our room was delightful; we were greeted each morning with a superb homemade breakfast included a homemade rice pudding with orange zest beyond compare. The dinners were equally delicious and prepared with care. So much attention to detail. Truly a gourmet culinary experience.

When deciding on the most desirable location to celebrate a 60th birthday - and the world was our oyster - we settled on the Peloponnese, and to have discovered Citta dei Nicliani was perfection indeed. The owners, Ileas, Tanya and Panos have restored this 18th century tower - now designated and ancient monument - and converted it into immaculate boutique accommodation. On arrival we felt immediately that we were welcomed into their home with genuine hospitality to ensure that our stay was pleasurable. The tranquil terrace is perfect for al fresco dining, the breakfasts with a multitude of local and home-made produce providing the perfect start to the day. The evening meals which can be ordered at breakfast time are mouth-watering selections of their culinary expertise using predominantly local home-made and home-grown produce, accompanied by a good selection of quality wines chosen by our knowledgeable hosts. The balcony of our tower room at the top of the outside stairs was a perfect spot for our sundowners and our comfortable and quiet room the antidote to the frenetic 21st century lifestyle. Such are our fond memories of the 60th birthday celebrations at Citta dei Nicliani that we are intending to revisit next year with my father-in-law to celebrate his 90th

This is exactly our sort of place. From the minute we arrived until the minute we left we felt welcomed and cared for. We were totally captivated. The hotel is beautifully converted from old tower houses. The style and attention to detail is harmonious with its surroundings, creating a peaceful and calming atmosphere. Panos, the owners son was a mine of info re walks, beaches, churches etc. He also is responsible for a serious and wide ranging wine list. But don't be intimidated, the house wine was wonderful and slipped down rather too easily! Meals are prepared by both parents using local ingredients and were quite delicious. This is Greek cooking as we had never experienced. We had a top tower room, which might not suit everyone as it involved a couple of flights of stairs, and another to the bed. But it had the advantage of a big private terrace with far reaching views over to the sea, country and mountain. Also a great place to watch the family of owls that live in near buildings, and at the same time feel safe from the noisy jackels! We suggest you contact the hotel to discuss what sort of room would suit you best. The shower room worked well, good toileteries and comfy bed AND a small posy on the dressing table! I am planning when to return. April is a great time for walking and the flowers are stunning. Roads are quiet, but too cold to eat outside in the evening, and swimming, though quite possible is for the hardy. The best of this trip, and the best ever?
