I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel on the island of Evia and in the greater Chalkis area. The hotel provides great value but more importantly the staff are always welcoming, friendly and ready to assist with just about anything. The hotel is located meters from the beach and almost every room has a view of the sea with a seating area on your balcony. We enjoyed the complimentary and varied breakfast selection each morning. There is ample parking or if you are using public transportation the bus stop is right next to the hotel.

Had an enjoyable holiday at Evia. Hotel is good. TV sets are old fashioned but we never switched them on. Friendly personnel who is always ready to help. Cleaning every day and no question to the quality. Food served at breakfasts might have been more various - but when you consider cost I paid for the room and service - I think that I might have simply purchase only bed without breakfast and the fee would be still attractive. Mainly local people are visiting this place - so we had no one to speak in Russian to (my native language) and I didn't spot any British or German people around this island. While we had no problem to make an order in the nearby taverna or communicate our needs to the staff in the hotel or in the small convenience store. Most people speak English. We rented a car (from a local firm - with pick up/drop off at Athens airport) so we visited all beaches in Evia and even at Peloponnese. Good place is Lihadonisia - sandy beach and clean water.

When ever I visit Evia I always stay at the Philoxenia. The rooms are large and comfortable, my room had a kitchen area and a balcony where you could sit outside and see the beach. The hotel is situated steps from the beach in Lefkanti. If you do not want the noise and congestion of the Capital City Chalkis then this is the place for you. Free Internet. Extensive breakfast options. The main reason I highly recommend this hotel is the staff, they are always welcoming and accommodating.

Studio was far larger than expected, the balcony was large and we had good views. Breakfast plentiful and the pool lovely. Have stayed there before and would stay there again. Staff always polite and always ready with a helping hand for any questions. Excellent.

Deco is dated, needs a bit of revamp. They also need to speak to google maps as we ended up in agriculture land, then had to call hotel to help us locate. Nice area and good location.

The hotel is quite good, the apartments are of good size and the balcony was huge (4th floor). The staff was very helpful and friendly. Only negative point is that the hotel is not in Chalkida but more in Eretria. To get to Chalkida you need a taxi (or rent a car) which is €15 one way. Probably good if you want to stay only there.

Unfortunately cleanliness wasn't a top priority! Like most other countries I've visited, unless you pay top dollar they care more about cleaning in front of the hotel and the lobby than the rooms. Except for Japan.

Me and my lady friend stayed there for two nights and enjoyed it to the utmost. Wonderfully spatious rooms, immaculate facilities, enticing terraces, delicious breakfast and impossibly lovely hotel staff. I cannot find any dirty spot on this hotel and would definitely recommend it to any one interested not only in lying on the beach and swimming in sea waves but also getting to know Greece, its landscape, people and cultural peculiarities. All thumbs up!

Can't say enough about the staff of this hotel. Each and every one of them went out of their way to ensure we had all we needed. The rooms were beautiful - spacious and with everything a family needs for a great holiday. Food superb. Beautiful pool and pool area. We availed of the hotel transfer service from Athens airport and it was a great and reasonable choice for us, a family of 5.

My wife and I stayed here for one night (£29 for a studio apartment) and were absolutely amazed at what we got for such a cheap price. The whole hotel was clean and well presented and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was very spacious (table and chairs set out on the balcony, another set inside, a desk and bedside tables, a large fridge and freezer, air-con and tv, a hob and oven, and plenty of cupboard space both in the kitchen area and for clothes near the bed). We were there just as the winter/quiet season was ending so we didn't get a chance to swim in the pool but it looked reasonably big and the sea was just a block away (as was a small food shop). Breakfast was included and served until 10. It was by far the biggest and best breakfast I have seen - so much choice and the member of staff was helpful and nice - even with those coming in at the last minute for whom he replenished the foods without having to be asked (a refreshing change from the how-dare-you glares and blatant reluctance to put out more food which we have experienced at many hotels when arriving half an hour before service ends!) The hotel is about an hour away from both Athens airport and Athens itself by car. Overall a very impressive and well run hotel at a very good price.
