Lovely hotel, with beautiful old-fashioned decor, very close to the centre of the city. Excellent breakfasts, friendly and helpful staff. Our suite was spacious and comfortable and the hotel windows have external blinds to reduce noise and light. Modern, upgraded rooms are available but we prefer classic furnishings.

Lovely hotel with walking distance of many sites in Pest and an easy walk across the bridge to Buda. Clean, spacious rooms with a lovely breakfast buffet each morning.

Hotel really clean and elegant, great choice of breakfast with fresh hot and cold food. Nice drinks in the lounge and ideally located with airport bus stop outside and all sites within walking distance l.

Danube Hotel Astoria is conveniently located in the middle of the city (Please note that this is on the Pest side, we didn't know the difference until we went there). Metro is right by the hotel so that made it very convenient but what i did NOT like about this hotel is the fact that breakfast was the SAME every single day, no change at all, some variety would have been nice. I also did not like the fact that there are no ice machines, no water fountains anywhere and when you requested for ice or simple tap water, it seemed like an inconvenience for the staff. I know this seems to be the norm in most European hotels but it sucks. I won't stay here again

The hotel is in a very busy area and it is extremely noisy. There is a siren every 5 minutes or less, buses and trams, and constant traffic. The room had only heating and it was unbearable even if we turned off as it was a warm spring day. No porter or help with luggage. The room , classic suite, was very large with 1 and a half bathrooms, but furniture was old,and dated. Will not be back.

A nice hotel in a good location. You can easily walk into the city centre or use the trams/buses that stop outside.
The hotel is showing its age a little but is clean and tidy. All the staff were nice and friendly.

Hotel was nice, clean room, small but comfortable. Elevators very small. Lobby and restaurant were very nice. NO COFFEE MACHINE in room. Close to plenty of restaurants and things to see and do.

The location was good but the hotel is very very noisy. It’s between two main roads and the windows are single glazed. We asked for a back room but they can’t if you have a child as they are smaller rooms at the back.
Also the reception area smells bad, but not upstairs the smell there was fine. Otherwise good location.

The stay at the hotel was far from enjoyable. This establishment offers no services whatsoever. If you’re simply looking for a place to sleep, it might suffice, but only if you’re staying in the newer section of the hotel.
The cleanliness is extremely poor, with massive amounts of dust under the bed.
In summary, considering the price, it’s acceptable, but don’t expect anything beyond the bare minimum. There’s no room service, no VIP benefits—absolutely nothing.

They need to renew the facilities and their furniture. The upholstery of the furniture gives a bad impression although in its heyday it must have been a luxurious hotel. Because of the location, if you invested in its facilities, it would be better than any hotel near the Danube. However, it is worth staying there.
