Beautiful place to stay, fabulous food. Spa facilities were idyllic, including an atmospheric “wild swim” in the sea loch.

The sea side view was absolute bliss. And a big thank you to Liam and Josh - such lovely lads. We will be back.

Screebe House is a beautifully peaceful getaway. We had a gorgeous view of the water. At night looking across the water was very little light. It was so peaceful. The food was very good with great portion size. Breakfast was included with a small buffet plus a made to order hot option. Dinner was a 2 or 3 course choice. I did an appetizer and main and walked away full and satisfied. The second evening we let them know that we were exploring and went to Kylemore Abbey and the Clifdon. We did not use the spa or pool but we did check out the pool and it was in a lovely spot (indoor and saltwater) we did go down to the pier and dipped our toes into the cold sea. There is a ladder for those adventurous ones who want to swim. I would definitely recommend the Screebe House to anyone looking to get away from it all. My only complaint is no air conditioning- but that is only because we come from an area that everything is air conditioned. But I would go back in a heartbeat!

Lovely family run hotel with wonderful views and high quality cuisine. Surrounding area is beautiful. Recommend.

What a great and tranquil place to be in. The staffs are incredible friendly and helpful. The dinner and breakfast are just wonderfully prepared. Highly recommend.

unique location and friendly staff

Beautiful location along the bay. All of the staff were so nice and easy to talk to. The food was amazing.

Loved the dinner, views, sauna and swims from the pier. Would have been lovely to have some walks directly from the hotel, but you had to drive everywhere unfortunately. There were woods to the side of the hotel, but no real pathways through.

My third stay at Screebe House and once again my stay was delightful. The staff is so kind and will do o anything to help. Of course I will be going back next year.

Amazing

It's a fabulous place in a beautiful setting. The food in their restaurant is great and the staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. The only reason I gave less than five stars on property condition is because the rooms don't have temperature controls or even fans to move air. Furthermore, the windows don't have screens so they don't want you to open them and let the midges in. Maybe it was just our room. That said, I would certainly stay here again. It's a very well kept and we'll staffed place in a unique setting right on the water.

By far, this was one of the most beautiful and well-managed places we have ever stayed.

Very welcoming Staff! Picturesque location with views of the Atlantic from our room! Spa facilities were great too. Salt water swimming pool is warm and comfortable to swim in, as well as the use of the sauna and steam room, there are some nice walking spots around the property too and coral beaches only a 10 min drive away. Would highly recommend to anyone passing or driving the coastal route to/from Clifden to stop by as you won’t be disappointed!

It has been about 8 months since I stayed at the Screebe in the priciest seaview room. This place could be better. The most unpleasant experience was that our room washcloths were "made" by cutting old towels down to size with two sides of the cloth just frayed. It was very odd, but it seemed wrong. I saw a maid working in another room wash out and hand dry a drinking glass with one of the hand towels. The hardware for the shower was broken... feeble would be a better word. We stayed in March and it took several tries to get heat sent to the room on the first night. The coffee service is in a hallway landing and it is a very loud Keurig machine, so we got to hear everyone making coffee in the morning. The spa towels were tired, brown, with the embroidered girdles shrinking signifying their age. The hot tub was nice, but its all hands-on to remove the cover. Not something that a senior person can do alone. Lastly the dinner was superb on both evenings, but the breakfast was inconsistent and on both days, my order which was to be two eggs was just one... the smaller of the options. the buffet meat looked a little bit like it came from a LIDL packet of meats and wasn't exactly abundant (which is ok considering the small number served), and all the plates were from Ikea... a place like this speaks to more authenticity. The staff was very amiable though. All that I mention are easily improved. Otherwise excellent place.

Stunning property in Connemara. A bit remote but that’s the charm. Ursula will take good care of you!

Have to say our booking was last minute due to lack of availability in Galway, but SO glad we did it! Ursula, the owner was amazing! We got in late, we were tired and frazzled, but she managed to get us settled and made to feel welcomed & comfortable immediately! Would highly recommend!

A joyous experience with a wonderful staff. Stayed in Room 4 and the history made it that much more interesting. We will surely book again on our next adventures to Ireland.
