I LOVED this palazzo that is still owned by the son and his wife. It is pretty, charming, full of family antiques, with a beautiful courtyard below, sparkling lights and an art gallery. Very kind owners and staff. It is a BnB and not a hotel so you are on your own but absolutely lovely.

While the staff was lovely, and the location is perfect, there were a lot of things that could have been better. The air conditioning in the room was locked so you couldn’t put the temperature below 25°C. There is no fridge in the room just a small shared fridge. Breakfast was very underwhelming, and that’s putting it nicely. I suppose you get what you pay for.

This B&B had old world charm and was very well located to sites, restaurants and shops. It was a little difficult to find. But with a little help, we made it. No elevator, so if you have a lot of luggage, you'll have to navigate the stairs. Hosts were very nice.

The location is why we chose it. You exit onto one of the major, (mostly) pedestrianised streets with lots of restaurants. Unfortunately there is construction wotk next door which started at 0800 but as there’s no nightlife in Ortigia we were up by then so it wasn’t a problem. It’s hard to find. There’s a buzzer by the door. We had to Whatsapp the owner. It’s on the first floor, up around 20 steps. The interior is very traditional with dark wood. The owner is pleasant. His English is minimal but he is helpful. The room was large, clean, with a comfortable bed, a sofa, wardrobe and two chairs. With the shutters closed it was pretty quiet at night. The bathroom was adequate, with a very small shower. There was hot water, plenty of towels and basic hair, shower gel and hand gel. I would recommend this property for an excellently located, simple-style accommodation for a short stay.

TERRIBLE experience. Do NOT stay here. The host was completely non responsive on our attempts to contact the property to make arrangements for a late check in (at 8:40pm). We called two phones numbers provided and emailed and zero response. We had to contact Expedia to get a response. When we finally did get checked in the staff onsite was cold and curt. The room was dusty under bed, in bathroom, and the fan in room was covered with dust. The property inaccurately described its amenities on Expedia including and most importantly the parking. It is neither free or onsite as advertised. You have to park in a municipal lot that is a 10-15 minute walk away and costs quite a bit. Check out was at 10:30 am not 11:00am as described. Breakfast was served at 8:30 and when we got there at 8:30 there was no coffee or milk and the staff wouldn’t get more. The area was also noisy at night with partying and in the early morning with workers outside. Horrible experience overall. I would not recommend staying here.

There was no parking near this B&B. We parked in a parking garage near the waterfront at the entrance to the island of Ortega for 15 euro/day. It was about a 15-20 minute walk to the B&B and is worth the walk d/t it’s central location. We also did not have breakfast on site but were given coupons for a nearby cafe. This happened to us a couple of times this trip & we are wondering if it is because November is slower season & it is easier for the host to give out coupons in lieu of preparing breakfast? Despite the lack of parking & lack of on site breakfast we would still recommend this B&B d/t it’s central location on Ortega & beautiful courtyard. Also, the elderly lady that was our host during our stay was a sweetheart even though we couldn’t understand a word either of us spoke:)

The girls who ran it were wonderful and caring. It’s quite complicated getting your luggage into the b&b as it’s on a no car street, but if you carefully follow the instructions and use gps it work - IF you’re at least two. I can’t see how a single person arriving by car would manage with anything but a small bag. Parking is 800 meters away!!!
