What Guests Say About Their Stay

This was the most beautiful hotel we stayed in during our two week trip to Sicily, London, and the Isle of Jersey. We only wish we had planned more days here. (We stayed 3 nights in a suite.) The hotel is furnished with a beautiful understated elegance - a true lesson in the art of neutral & white-on-white furnishing. Our room was very comfortable with HUGE amounts of room to move around - unlike most European hotels in this price range. The staff was excellent - very helpful, although English speaking was limited - as might be expected this deep into the countryside. The grounds were just beautiful and serene. As it really is an old castle, the walls are so thick you have to hang your head out a window to make a cell-phone call, but the view is so beautiful out there, it's a pleasure to do anyway! Breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately we never got to have dinner there as our nearby Auntie kept insisting we have dinner at their home. This is where we will stay when we go back to visit our family again. It's just outside of Vizzini, so you have to do a little country travelling to get there, but it is well worth the little drive.

Beautiful location and stunning building, only ourselves and the owners there on our two night stay. Lovely staff. Friendly owners. Unfortunately the room was pretty tired and bathroom needed a good overall. Old marked shower enclosure. Crumbling walls round the shower unit. Shower coming away from wall and mould round taps. Also a ton of ants in and around bathroom. Tissue box full of them. Breakfast which was included was poor. Very old looking tomato and cucumber slices and tbh v little choice. Fruit looked like it had been there longer than it should. A large ham which you could slice yourself but knife so blunt a teaspoon would have been more use. No drinks menus on offer for coffees etc. in honesty the worst breakfast I’ve had on our many trips to sicily. We nearly booked here for our wedding last year… relieved we didn’t tbh. Foyer area absolutely stunning, this needs to have a bar in it, would be a lovely place to sit and have drinks. The stay was for our wedding anniversary. Although no other guests.. no room upgrade offered. We are elsewhere on the evening rather than have our anniversary dinner there after seeing how poor breakfast was.

Our plane was late, we got lost on our way to the hotel and we didn't arrive until gone midnight even so our welcome could not have been better. We had an upgrade and a fantastic room/suite for our stay. The hotel was in a lovely building in a beautiful setting. Wifi reception in the room was good. Food unfortunately was a bit of a let down, breakfast was limited on the first day but much better on the second. The evening meal was not up to standard for the price we had to pay and I write this after sampling the food in other hotels and restaurants during our stay in Sicily. A shame as otherwise I could not fault the hotel.
