This is not a hotel I would recommend! Staff are very unprofessional and need further training. Check in is at 15:00pm, we arrived at 14:55pm, then had to wait 40 minutes for a room. I was advised that I would get upgraded to an ocean view room. Unfortunately this was not honoured, I was given a room over looking a dirty swimming pool! Then the icing on the cake was we were provided with dirty towels. I asked to speak to a manager about the matters, the staff was rude then had a handyman act as manager. If he was a manager his presentation was not of a manager. He wore a dirty yellow t shirt, jeans and dirty trainers. He was not helpful and the matter was not resolved, we was still provided with dirty towels.

The resort was cleam and the staff were great. The problem with Sandy Haven is that the owner is not keeping up with day to day cost that keep a resort running smoothly. This is apparent from not having ice at the bar or even an ice machine (sometimes no red stripe), the front restaurant, Bongos, is closed and hot tub is covered up or out of service. The manager, Mr. Wright, is doing everything he can to make things work however with no funds avaiable to him that becomes impossible. The price should come down significantly. Not worth the money we spent.

Rooms were large with the attached patio, bedroom, separate basin area then the toilet and shower. Ours of course could use some updating but it was everything we needed. It was kept tidy by the staff. Hotel is situated in the middle of seven mile beach which is nice and easy for walking either direction. The biggest issue was the lack of food available at the resort. The breakfast was eggs on two days out of seven. Then just bacon and toast. Also they ran out of ice for several days. Staff was friendly and attentive to our needs with in their hotels very limited services.

Staff very courteous especially Ralph who was very helpful. First room safe didn’t work so had to move. Second room internet charging didn’t work but luckily I had my own adaptor which did work. Carey at the bar also super nice and helpful.

this was my second stay at sandy haven and I can't begin to tell you how fabulous it was. I had the best room at the resort "111", roll out of bed and the oven is merely steps away. the staff goes above and beyond to assure you have whatever it is that you need. andre, our bartender makes the best Pina colada ever. if you are planning a trip to Jamaica don't pass by the sandy haven you won't regret it..

We stayed at the property for a week in June. Let's start with the good. SH staff is exceptional, professional, friendly, and more than the ownership deserves. They did their absolute best under the circumstances. Special shout out to Edward, Ron, Raffie, Chantal, and Keon, but the entire staff was awesome. Ownership needs to step up their game as far as property maintenance. Especially considering the price point. During our previous stays in 2017 and 2018 the property was immaculate and fresh. Today, it is worn down. Issues with the room(s). We arrived to a room with no AC in the middle of June. One of the double sinks was not operating correctly. Once Edward, the front desk attendant, managed to resolve the issue with the AC, we discovered that while it was functioning it would not adjust. The room quickly became the artic tundra. No hot water as the hotel was waiting on a gas delivery that day. Hot water was either non existent or inconsistent throughout our stay. Day 2. Ron was kind enough to upgrade us to an ocean front room! He was attentive to our issues and incredibly responsive. Room upgrade. Wifi on the TV was a constant struggle when it worked. The door did not have a door knob, so opening/closing and locking the door was another struggle. The AC while functioning leaked causing a bubble in the paint that eventually exploded all over my bed. The ocean front view was blocked by unkempt trees (so glad i didn't actually pay for it).

This was my first trip to Jamaica; therefore, I have no comparisons with other hotels. My stay was also during the off-season, so I do not know what would have been different. The staff were friendly and willing to address any concerns. I'm not a pessimistic, nitpicking individual, and I did not go looking for deficiencies or for everything to be as accommodating as in the U.S. I went to Negri and Sandy Haven Resort to enjoy the experience, my friends, and have a relaxing vacation. That is exactly what I did! I hope to return.
