Ski in ski out. Lots of facilities. Great selection of food for the breakfast and dinner buffet by ski resort standard. Premium room was spacious and clean and looks new and has a great view for a family of 4. I’d come back again.

Comfortable stay

Great facilities, but disappointed about the extra charge to use the pool. Also there was drilling noise from a next-door room. Still, the reception desk staff was friendly, and the view is superb.

ここ数年連続で「プレミアムスイート、64m2」に宿泊している者です。 施設はしっかり古さを感じますが、 自然が多く、大人から子供まで楽しめるので 何泊しても楽しめると思います。 ただ、例年は気になりませんが、 今回は、部屋の衛生面が酷くて 退室しようか家族で相談したほどでした。 2泊しましたが、清掃してもらっても、 しばらく洗ってなかったのか部屋着が臭くて着用できなかったり、 ソファの下に自分たちの物でない輪ゴム、 カーテンの下にはミニカー、 挙げ句の果てには、部屋の浴槽が気持ち悪いほど汚れており、フロントに電話して清掃してもらったほどです。 このランクの部屋だったからガサツに掃除されたのかはわかりませんが、ここ数年気に入って利用していただけに残念です。 辛口かもしれませんが、事実しか書いていませんので、参考になればと思います。

We had a beautiful mountain view of the slopes. The room seemed old and ready for a renovation. We went on a Japanese holiday so all the restaurants we wanted to eat at had no availability, and neither did the kids daycare service.

Our overall impression of the hotel was good. The skiing was great and ski runs meticulously groomed. There was a good range of choices for food. The food court offered a reasonable choice of food at affordable prices. The Japanese restaurant Nanashigure was the best restaurant we ate at catering to our group of 14 which included 4 young children. Arlberg Restaurant was great for breakfast buffets. We were disappointed with Brisa and Richoen and Bireika was meh! Our rooms were clean but felt overheated and the temperature could not be regulated except by opening a tiny window for the duration of our stay! The ski school for children is a great resource for young families who want to introduce skiing to their kids early. The three year olds in our family thoroughly enjoyed their lessons.

APPI Grand is perfect if you want to hit the slopes. The Gondola and Quad lift are just in front of the hotel, and the hotel has plenty of lockers and excellent ski and snowboard rental service with good quality equipment. The Wifi is free but gets very slow towards the evening. The onsen inside the hotel is ok, the included onsen 5 minutes away is great. Sad that you have to pay for the Gym and the Pool (even as hotel guests). There are many restaurants and a food court - however, none of them is suitable for vegetarians. There is a nearby (30min on foot) Lawson convenience store, if everything else fails.

Hotel service staff is very friendly from driver, reception to dining. The free spa nearby is superb! 1st week of Dec is already snowing with thick fluffy snow for skiing. Overall enjoy the stay at grand appi main building except the furniture is outdated with lots of stains on sofa & carpet.

Though still off-season, the hotel and ski resort were not crowded, thus making the stay very relaxed and pleasant.

Most of the restaurants closed. Finally, instant noodles are our dinner @hotel. Very disappointed!!!!!!

It is a pretty dated hotel with nothing around. The staff try really hard but seem worn and jaded. The service is excellent despite that and they will literally move mountains for you if you asked for it. The suite we stayed in had a foul smell coming from the drainhole of the second shower. Otherwise the furniture is old and a little worn out. The public onsen is OK with good water and facilities but the private onsen is not of acceptable quality. The walls and ceiling are black with mold and water damage everywhere.The garden it faces is sparse and almost dead. I don't mean hibernate for winter dead but more like withered and desiccated dead. Meals are OK with a decent selection. The soft serve is shamefully poor quality for being in Japan and the scrambled eggs are powdered eggs. Bear in mind there are no other meal options in the immediate vicinity and they know it too.Meals can be ruinously expensive. Overall for the price you pay I struggle to see the value if compared with other resorts in Japan. The snowboarding and the mountain is fantastic if your timing is right but everything else is mediocre in the extreme. Overall

Ski in ski out property, good buffet dinner. Staff are helpful. Only downside is that need to take shuttle to the outdoor onsen.

The hotel feels like American Colleges built in the 80s, complete with piped in 80s music and cafeteria trays. If you get a room slope side, you can see skiers etc, but honestly who stays in the room in a ski resort. Take the room that faces the carpark much more spacious for about the same price. The public bath within the hotel is always crowded and has lots of stray hair on the floor (and you can't wear footwear in the dressing room area ewwww). Take the shuttle to the outdoor onsen, it's about 3 minutes on the bus. Super convenient, and you'll have a much better experience. Hotel staff are always friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. For families, the buffet is the best way to go for dinner; we tried the korean bbq recommended by many travelers, and it was disappointing. The meat was good, but you'll have to pay to top up lettuce and sauce (who does that in a korean restaurant?). And the portion is quite small, not enough to share if you have kids with you. we ended up ordering meals for the kids, which is exorbitantly priced (any ala carte is for this hotel), so it was quite a pain. Breakfast was great; we usually fill up and skip lunch.

Cons - The beds are extremely hard. Service level could be improved. Pros - The Easy location to ski in and ski out and the nice view of the resort. Rooms are spacious. Opening windows.

20時位に着いた時、誰も車寄せに居らず！ カートも自分で持ってきて荷物載せたし、 駐車場の案内も適当だった。

チェックインのときスタッフに「無料で白樺の湯が利用できます」と言われました。3回確認しました。実際、白樺の湯へ行ったら利用出来ないと言われました。利用料が発生するとのことでした。フロントスタッフの対応に不満がつのりました。
