One of my best ever hotel experiences. Great staff all around. Large, clean room & bathroom. Excellent buffet breakfast. Plentiful amenities (in room coffee & tea, bathroom necessities, etc.) along with complimentary jelly snacks & free ice pops in the public bath area. Great (free) washing machine & inexpensive dryer. Would definitely stay here again.

This was my first time staying at a hotel with an onsite Onsen. The facilities were first class and Dormy Inn have thought of everything to make the experience more enjoyable Walking distance to the train station and eateries, this is a great place to stay if you are visiting Wakayama

Extremely professional and friendly staff. Very accommodating and patient as I tried to practice my Japanese. Very convenient to Wakayama Station and many walkable options for dinner and shopping. Communal bath was a great amenity after a long day of sightseeing. Highly recommend and I would stay again.

The facilities are varied, but with so many people, it is quite busy and slightly overcrowded. The breakfast is lovely, but the room is so small with so many guests that you will struggle to get food. They don’t allow people with tattoos in the onsen, and the rooms are quite small. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Good value for money, but not exceptional.

I booked a non-smoking room and the hotel provided a suitable room for me, but the room smelled terrible. A hotel staff told me that the hotel recently changed their policy and all smoking rooms are changed to non-smoking, but the room still smelled of cigarettes.

Dormy Inn is located a short 5 minute walk from the JR Wakayama train station. It is a clean facility with very good staff. The relaxing onsen facilities are a highlight of this hotel. A very nice touch just outside of the onsen is the free ice pops/small ice cream bars in the afternoons and evenings, and free Yakult prebiotic drinks in the mornings. Although I did not try it, there are also free half-servings of ramen in the restaurant in the evening. Laundry machines can be used for free, with clothes dryers available for only 100 yen. Given how hot and humid it was in Wakayama when I was there, access to these laundry facilities was a huge plus. My room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was good. Overall, I thought the little extras at this hotel made it feel welcoming and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
