Hotel Metropolitan Edmont Tokyo

In our second stay at this establishment, we have been particularly impressed by its proximity to the Tokyo Dome and the convenience of nearby attractions such as Akihabara and Shibuya. We typically opt for Hilton or Marriott accommodations due to their exceptional guest service and willingness to exceed expectations but they did not have the dates available for our stay. For our wedding anniversary celebration, we kindly requested amenities to make our stay truly memorable. However, we were disappointed with the lack of initiative compared to the exceptional service provided by Hilton. The bed was exceptionally hard, causing significant discomfort, especially for individuals with back injuries. Furthermore, the taxi service arranged for our airport transfer was dishonest. The driver inflated the meter, resulting in a charge of $220 for the ride. Last year, we utilized the same service for a similar trip, and the cost was only $80 for two taxis, with no hidden meter charges. We were also kept awake at night due to the guest above us making all the noise and jumping on the floor. Lastly, during the checkout process, the in-room dining bill was not charged. Upon my return to the United States, I received a message from the hotel requesting my email address to facilitate payment. Before I could respond, another message arrived informing me that my card was being charged without my prior consent. We will skip this hotel on our next visit to Tokyo.

Great location practically on top of Suidobashi station. Great for connecting to all the sights we wanted to see. My only complaint was the restaurants were VERY expensive compared to outside the hotel- even just across the road. The rooms are small with limited storage, but it’s Tokyo so not unexpected. Beds are also small- so westerners probably want a bed per adult (you could probably sleep 1 adult and 1 small child in one bed). The best bit was then laundry facilities. 8 washer/dryer combination machines that you can check status of via the telly. So you know before heading over if there’s a free machine and you know when yours has stopped. Machines auto dispense the laundry soap, so no need to bring/buy any. Staff helped us forward our bags to Kyoto, which made our Shinkansen experience much easier! All in all, a great hotel with fantastic and super helpful staff.

I booked a 3-night stay at Hotel Metropolitan Edmont Tokyo via Hotels.com for myself and my two children, clearly indicating the number of guests at the time of booking. The total price confirmed was ¥91,000 for all three nights. Upon check-in, the hotel claimed there was an issue with the booking and initially demanded an additional ¥30,000. Confused but willing to understand the discrepancy, I asked for clarification. After a long and frustrating back-and-forth, they then escalated the charge to a staggering ¥120,000 extra — more than double the original booking price! Their reasoning? That my children were additional guests — despite the fact that they were listed in the booking and sharing the same room. This was clearly a failure or manipulation on the hotel’s part, not mine. Instead of resolving it professionally, they tried to pressure me into paying a completely unjustifiable surcharge. While the staff were polite in manner, they were completely unwilling to address or acknowledge any issue with the pricing. Their attitude felt dismissive, and no real effort was made to find a fair solution. In the end, I was forced to pay a total of ¥168,851 for 3 nights in a hotel that simply did not warrant that price. It might have been easier to accept if the hotel lived up to that standard, but it didn’t come close.

Wonderful stay, super clean, excellent staff, plenty of high end restaurants within the hotel but many outside of the hotel within short walking distance. Several convience stores nearby too.

Excellent and affordable choice near Tokyo Dome. Easy access to trains. Only negative is it is a bit far from areas like Shibuya, Ginza, Harajuku but still a great choice and easy to get to those places by train.

Very busy hotel, but run efficiently!! Rooms are dated. But within walking distance to the Tokyo Dome where we saw a fun baseball game! I’d stay there again

Convenience

This place was incredible! It was super convenient, right next to different transportation lines. It was like a central hub, making it easy to get to everything I wanted to see. In addition to that, the food options and staff were great. I’d recommend checking out Midtown BBQ too. It’s right next door. Don’t let the quiet building nextdoor fool you. There’s a 711 there open 24 hours a day. Same building as the bbq.

Good Restaurants in hotel and surrounding area. Unfortunately, bathroom was small and subway not as close as we would’ve have liked.
