The room we were staying in was lovely and had a fantastic view. My husband enjoyed the onsen. All in all, a brilliant hotel I would definitely go back to. I wish we would have been able to take advantage more of the amenities but we have a little baby who likes to sleep!

This was the best hotel!!!!!! From the movie I got there, until I left, the hotel took care of me!! Everything except the breakfast was free. Free public bath, amenities, lockers, booze, snacks, tea. I want to come back to this town because of the hotel itself! The room was a little small and I had to ask for more than one pillow but this was the best hotel!

Staff are friendly. The room is spacious but the decor is quite old. The bed and pillow is fairly comfortable. There are plenty of choices in the buffet dinner and breakfast. The public bath only has a big indoor tub.

The room was very large for Japan, but sparsely furnished and decorated with rather old stuff. The bed wasn't the most comfortable. Efficiency bathroom. It had the feel of a cheap business hotel, but for $188 for one night. Might be worth it in the summer and if you take advantage of the amenities of the free nightly drink and sento. It was one of only a few available places to stay in the area. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Free, large parking lot. Walkable area, near the beach and castle.

The hotel was not accessible after 21:00, no transportation at all. We were stuck at Togo station (in the middle of way), no any alternative to move on. we tried to all kind of app as well as Uber, GO, no taxi available. It ruined our plan and totally waste our time, we waited for almost 2 hours and finally no choice unless you walk an hour to the hotel. seemed that it could not be your choice if you arrive in the evening. We could not wait any longer as it was already 23:00 !!!! Otherwise we need to sleep on the street in the cold weather. We sent the email to hotel for unexpected situation, they did not even reply, very disappointed

I reserved a room each for my own mother and mother-in-law. My own mother's room had some paint peeling but was satisfactory. However, my mother-in-law's room was not in good condition with peeling wallpaper. We stayed at the same time as a large group of student travelers, so the noise they made was a bit disconcerting. However, the quality and variety of the breakfast buffet was very satisfactory and made the whole family happy. We understood at a glance that the city's location makes it inaccessible and difficult to manage for foreign tourists to visit. Under such circumstances, this hotel is doing very well. I would like to continue to support them.

It was a good hotel overall. The public shared bath was nice as well. It is very close to ocean and “Nijino Matsubara” pine forest, great for a stroll, jog, or biking. The near by local restaurant “Sakamoto” has fresh, great tasting seafood and noodle dishes.

When I arrived at Royal Karatsu Hotel, it was filled with wedding ceremony guests. It used to be a five star hotel good for banquet. Overall however it needs to be touched up. Bathroom in the room was too old and had odours.

Just a big size hotel. Everything is okay but nothing very good to comment. If not driving, difficult to reach. Over an hour's drive from fukuoka airport even use access from highway which the toll fee is comparitively expensive.

Karatsu is a small quiet town. The hotel is a bit dated but the room was clean. We stayed in the tatami room facing the sea. The sunset view was marvelous. We were able to walk to the coastline from the hotel within 10mins. We made a 3 hr tour to Yobuko by bus. It took around 30mins from Karatsu bus terminal and by coincidence tasting the best restaurant in Karatsu. One suggestion to the hotel management - shuttle bus service to Hagashi Karatsu station should increase to at least every hour instead of just 2 times in the morning per day. If shuttle bus can run between hotel to Train station and bus terminal, it will be perfect for guests that aren't driving.
