I especially appreciated the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff at the front. I had read very critical reports, and almost didn't book with them. My experience was very different. This time, I stayed 3 nights. Hereafter, this hotel will be my first choice when I have future work in Sasebo. I did not try the morning breakfast this time, but will next time. I am an American, 89 years old, and somewhat handicapped. Without being asked, the staff reached out to help many times. While I am fluent in Japanese, they seemed ready to use English.

Great service, place is outdated, but still provides necessary comfort and amenities. Room was cramped, but the peace and quiet provides great reinvigoration if your planning on resting for the day!

Very horrible hotel. The walls in every guest’s room is dirty and old. And the bed is too low. The pillow is uncomfortable. And the shower supplies are not good. Restroom is dirty.

I had never stayed in a hotel/inn that is too smelly like this property. They have to be more conscious about the odour of their floor and the sleeping foam. Highly not recommended.

The first thing I need to mention is we stayed in a smoking room and it was only because it was the only room I could find that was within our price range. The room even after cleaning, completely smelled of smoke and it would get better or worse depending on our neighbors. The room itself wasn't too bad but it had seen better days with stains on the carpets and lamp shades. The bed was nice if you don't mind it being hard and the sheets + comforter were comfortable. The room isn't very big, which contained 2 beds, a nightstand, and a long table. There is a hanger space when you enter the room on your right and a small bathroom in front the door. In all honesty, my family spent as little time in the room as possible. The bright side of this stay was really the service and hospitality of the staff. They were all wonderful and a few even spoke very good English. Can't say enough about how nice the staff here were! Breakfast here was nice if you opt into it but fair warning, it is very Japanese. Breakfast consists of pickled veggies(not a fan), rice, miso soup, fish (cold), soft scrambled egg (cold), and a natto mixture I did not touch(not a fan). I thought it was great but my wife and daughter were not fans. They were very appreciative though that the hotel provided drink coupons each day that could be redeemed for tea, juice, beer, or wine, which was very nice. Overall, if you need a good, cheap place to stay, this will do it if you can get a non-smoking room.

Being in Japan, the language barrier can be exhausting. However, the Japanese are always willing to meet you half way with either Google Translate, or phoning a translator. Such was the case when I checked in. They were very welcoming, warm, and overall very helpful. This was just an overnight stay. I didn’t need anything fancy. I will say, the bed was uncomfortable as was the pillow but it wasn’t the room that mattered. I would stay there again, for the convenience, and overall location of this hotel.
