This was a great stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was around the corner from a metro station (less than 5 minute walk). On the same block were 3 convenience stores, restaurants, and some great shops. You're also a short walk to the Nishiki Market and major shopping.

We loved this Tokyu Stay out of all the Tokyu Stays we've stayed at in Japan. The reason is the large lobby with the table and free water, hot water, coffee, and tea. The large table is just a nice place to rest after a long day and there's also a bathroom in the lobby. If you've been traveling a long time, you will recognize what a plus this isn a more budget style hotel. It's right in the middle of all the shopping in Karasuma, but just off to the side so you don't feel overwhelmed by capitalism. It's also quite close to the larger shops if you wanted to walk, it would not be that far. It's also close to bus lines. as there's a main road in the front and it's also a block and half from a subway. Unlike to Tokyo, Kyoto's public transportation is more...chill...so at times it feels like there are less options. Don't get me wrong, it's still a bustling city, but it kind of. feels like a large town that's forced to be a city. Any rate, we would stay at his hotel again. The service was above and beyond as they held our bags for over 3 weeks before sending them to Tokyo to meet us at our last destination. Truly helpful and kind workers.

This was a great place to stay, especially for those relying on public transportation. The location is excellent, with easy access to buses and trains, making it very convenient to get around Kyoto. The small parking lot across the street, while available, is quite tiny and has limited hours, which can be a bit restrictive. However, Kyoto is definitely a city better suited for public transportation rather than driving, so I’ll plan differently next time. The free coffee in the front lobby was a nice touch, and the simple décor added a cozy vibe. The availability of a microwave and laundry facilities made it ideal for a longer stay, which I really appreciated. Overall, I enjoyed my time here and would happily stay again—just without bringing a car next time!

this hotel did not meet my satisfaction whatsoever, I never stayed at a hotel where it was this bad.. we had the 4th floor and room smelt horrid as soon as you walk in, advised the staff they came in and inspect stating that the room did not smell, don’t forget to mention black mold around the bathtub and doors. They really don’t care about the people staying here so you shouldn’t care enough to waste your time and pocket in this nightmare hotel. There was also gnats flying around the bathroom and room, which me and my partner got bites all over our body and we had to buy ointment for the treatment. They don’t do housekeeping unless you stay more than 7 days and advise they only will clean your room ONCE. We also had to stop by a store to pick up bathroom essentials for the place, we weren’t being dramatic of how bad it was the smell can’t be avoided. Also their laundry detergent isn’t the best either so if you do want to book this place (which i advise not to) please consider buying your own laundry detergents. I’d never been more happy to leave this place, we stayed at many hotels during our trip in Japan the previous hotel was definitely way better and they treat you with care.. I’d give this hotel a 0 star if I could.

Family of four with neighbouring twin rooms. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Very much a staffed hotel. Rooms and bathroom were clean. Beds were very comfortable. There were cups and kettle in room and tea bags available for self serve at reception along with toothbrush and toiletries although toiletries and washing liquid provided in rooms already. Area was safe and peaceful, walking distance to many sites and metro. Loved the back streets and restaurants, some european options too if desired. Free coffee machine and seating area in lonby was appreciated. We had breakfast included which was a mix of Japanese food and ham and eggs, croissants, toast, jam, yoghurt but 7 - 11 also next door for supplies if needed. Would recommend for anyone.

Our stay at Tokyu stay hotel was great! I really enjoyed staying there the service was excellent! We received the best customer service from M.Nayuk at the front desk. She helped with directions and gave tips on where to go. The best thing for me was the rooms were super spacious and even came with a washing machine and dryer! That was a super conscience for me as it allowed me to wash my clothes in the room with out having to go any where. The hotel was in a great location right near a subway station and a 7-11.
