Markazia Suites

Staff was great. I was upgraded to a suite with no additional cost. The staff, especially the man at the front desk reception was genuinely interested in what I saw and did. Very friendly, welcoming, and courteous and made my stay pleasant. The driver they called to pick me up at the airport in the early morning upon my departure was very nice and arrived early. I am impressed with the hotel staff.

Excellent experience, staff are very respectful

The hotel is ranked as 5 star hotel but 1: there weren’t an open restaurant. 2: the room didn’t have a coffee corner , water ، bar, iron , nothing but TV . 3: they shot electricity at 12 midnight till 7 am , with no internet. 4: the staff is around 6 people all together with room service. 5: when I complained and want to leave they didn’t agree to refund my money . 6: was not happy and don’t recommend for the hotel to stay on Expedia. I was a client with Expedia for many years but never complained, but the experience was not good at all .

It is nice in terms of staff and location. Furnature is very old.

I did enjoy my time at this suite but I feel for a 5 star hotel there should have been more to make you feel you were staying at a suite such as this i;e clean glasses,a bath robe,an iron and reception staff giving you information on what the hotel itself has to offer in services and functions in and around the vicinity, i noticed little touches like complimentary fruits were offered but not to all and this is what gives a 5 star rating what it's worth or meant to be! Windows were filthy and curtains were old and ripped too so all this was noticeable! Only got a picture of my view from the window.

Our 4th stay and enjoyed each one. Rooms excellent, clean, comfortable, good temperature control. Quiet but central location. Breakfast very decent

The Markazia Suites could be superb. It is a good, building, ideally placed for access to the centre of Beirut and with huge rooms and friendly staff. But is it s very tired hotel. The decor, carpets, curtains and facilities are dated and worn. The corridors and rooms are dowdy and there are hints that the bathrooms are not well enough cleaned. Everything works but there are some oddities. Wifi in the room is good but does not work outside the room. If you want wifi in the restaurant you need o access the restaurant wifi. Breakfasts OK but not Western. Bar closed due to Ramadan

We were very well welcomed at the hotel by Antonio, he was friendly, pro active and efficient. The hotel is good, a little outdated but amazingly located. The room is big, the bed is great even if overall the decoration is not to my taste. I would highly recommend it.

A nice enough motel-quality room with kind but not very helpful staff. Not at all the quality that I was expecting from a 5-star hotel, broken window in our room (see the photo), very dated motel-style room with a clean, basic but unattractive bathroom, unreliable wifi (that in the end wasn't solved even after visits from tech staff). I like the location, and front desk staff were indeed kind, even if not so much able to assist.

The hotel is located very close to the heart of down town, staff r very friendly & helpful, the room was spacious (we took a junior suite) and clean.

Unfortunately my experience with Markazia was very unpleasant, therefore I find it very difficult to recommend this hotel to other travelers. 4 days before my arrival I contacted Markazia requesting a pick up service at the airport. Since it was my first time visiting Lebanon and with a flight scheduled to arrive at 3AM, I thought it would be safer and less troublesome to have a driver waiting for me. Markazia staff confirmed the pick up service but to my surprise, they didn’t send the driver. I spent almost 1 hour waiting and despite several attempts to call the hotel, nobody answered. I had to find a taxi by myself and if you have been to Lebanon you probably know how unsafe it feels having to deal with taxi agents trying to scam you and take advantage of you, specially at 4Am when there is almost nobody around. Once I reached the hotel, nobody seemed to know what happened. There was no apology from the person who agreed to provide the service as well. As for hotel itself, the location is good. Near the souk. The rooms are extremely dated and crying for a renovation. The bed and pillows were fine. The breakfast is absolutely awful!!! Stay away from the restaurant. Extremely overpriced and very poor quality. The reception staff is certainly what saves that place. They were friendly and willing to help. Overall I must admit my experience with Markazia was below acceptable and I will never go back.

Good value and in a good location. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit rundown but clean.

The location is excellent and the receptionist was extremely helpful. However, some staff were not, we had booked several triple rooms and when we arrived the 3rd bed in each room didn't have a duvet. When requested we were told there were none left by housekeeping. Only when reception got involved did some duvets appear (at 1am) and even then we were left to make it ourselves. Restaurant staff were quite unhappy and not interested in customers.

Great location, easy to get everywhere in Beirut. The hotel is all suites and having a kitchenette is handy. Rooms are decent, though not recently renovated. Breakfast has lots of options and check in was friendly.
