118 Hotel Macalister is a two-star hotel in Penang; one of Malaysia’s top tourist destinations, for both locals and foreigners. This relatively new accommodation in Penang is located at the no 49, Jalan Macalister, in the heart of Georgetown. The hotel is a tall white building with the ‘118 Hotel Macalister’ stencilled in blue above the hotel entrance. The 118 Hotel Macalister is perfect for both a family vacation and for those who are in town for business with its strategic location, being in the middle of the town. The rooms at the hotel also offer at a price that is very affordable, not to mention that they are clean and provide great comfort.
How to Get to 118 Hotel Macalister
Since the 118 Hotel Macalister is located in the middle of the George Town, Penang, it is easily accessible by private or public transport. Driving is the best choice to move around in Penang, though they do have an extensive public transport that connects most of the places in the state. To go to the 118 Hotel Macalister, from Kuala Lumpur, the trip will take some three hours and fifty minutes via the North-South Highway. For those who are already familiar with the capital city of Penang, the hotel is located in the middle of George Town. For those who prefer to travel by bus, the travel time will take slightly longer, some five up to six hours, depending on the traffic. The ticket price from Kuala Lumpur to Sungai Nibong Express Bus Terminal, Penang starts from RM 32 one-way. From the bus terminal, it is just around 15 minutes to reach the hotel as the distance between two is 10 kilometres. If travelling by land for hours is not something preferable, Penang has its own international airport that connects to most of the Malaysian major cities and some ASEAN countries. New Lane Hawker Centre - This hawker centre is located at Lorong Baru, or New Lane in English, hence the name. The road will be closed to the vehicular traffics from around 3 pm to give ways to the hawkers to open their stalls. This is one of the places in Penang to find authentic Chinese foods with the best experience. The dishes range from a simple congee, which is a Chinese porridge to chee cheong fun to the famous char kuew teow. There are numbers of hawker stalls to choose from which each and every single one of them trying to dish out the best food they could. The New Lane Hawker Centre opens from 4 pm until as late as two in the morning. It is just fifty metres from the 118 Hotel Macalister.
