If you are kind of a guy who enjoy party and social this hostel might fit your taste. Some room is a little bit too crowded. When you arrive be prepare to present your booking(if you booked in advance)with your booking payment just your peace of mind.

Great place to stay
Stayed at Borneo Seahare guesthouse in Kuching for 14 days when I only intended to stay for 2 nights - it's a very hard place to leave! It's a great hostel and the staff do everything they can to make you feel extremely welcome and they know everything that there is to do in the surrounding area. There is also a bar with cheap beers.

Beautiful hostel Beautiful people!
I was crying on the plane leaving here. Maybe it was the booze, the soppy film in board but more likely it was because I'd just left the best hostel in Kutching after staying there 17 days when I only intended staying 2! We had such fun with owner Ben and his wife Syeda, Hajar, Lewis, Nick, the lovely Lucy and Sam and the man of a thousand stories, Jeremy- all of whom will go out of their way to help you plan activities around Sarawak. I would not even consider staying anywhere else in Kutching and neither should you. Now where did I put the tissues? Getting emotional again ;)

Great stay
Fine private rooms for a hostel, the main benefits start in the kitchen and services. Great atmosphere, simple but sufficient breakfast. Ben and other personnel are very helpful, ask for a tour with Malindo. He is amazing.

By far the best hostel we have stayed in on our travels.
Visiting Kuching we stayed in a couple of hostels that were so noisy.... Then we found the Seahareand spent around 13 days here. It truly is such a great hostel and being away from main roads it is a great base for a good night's sleep. Ideal location only being 5-10 minutes walk from the river and centre of town but with local restaurants and shops around the corner. As for all the staff well they made us feel so welcome and really could not do enough to help. Their knowledge of the area is fantastic and gave us all the information we needed whilst visiting Kuching. They will also arrange tours from the hostel if you are wishing to see other parts of the area. One big thing that stood out for us was the large chill out area, with TV room, bar, kitchen, satellite TV and more. We shall most definitely be coming back to stay here again in future. A big thank you to Ben and Jeremy and all the staff for a memorable stay 10/10.

Not finished
The Seahare is in a great location, within a minutes walk to many bars and restaurants. Unfortunately, the hostel itself doesn't live up to much. Feeling somewhat unfinished, the walls are bare partitions that you find in offices and the place feels unwelcoming. Staying in a double room with a large window, letting in lots of light. Until realising that the translucent blinds only cover half of the window, looking onto the street below. The bathrooms felt unclean, the showers taking a while to eventually work and with one of the toilets leaking! With many lightbulbs out the overall place feels dark. However, the guys who run the place seem friendly and fixed the AC the morning after it was leaking. Unfortunately, the hostel feels to have a long way to go.
