Okay for backpacking, clean but couldn't connect to the WiFi
It's a strategic place to stay.
Cheap with nice place that easy to walk to eat and relax
The room smelled bad and there is bed bugs on the bed.
It feels like at your own home, your own room. very clean. I booked a twin standard room with no TV, no mineral water, no cabinet to place your own clothes. Too standard while you can get those facilities at others with same budget.
Overall it was okay. The hotel was pretty near to most of the attraction place in penang.
The most lovely hotel and very close to fort cornwellis
Great place but no television at my room.
A simple hotel, very basic but it was just for a night sleep also was alright, parking can be a little of a problem during the day but after 5pm is ok.
The service from the workers were good, helpful however I booked room for 3, the first night the air-con was little bit slow to cool up so we were about to change the room but that time was about 1 am (checked in 10pm) so we decided to wait till the next day , but around 3 am the air-con worked perfectly . so the next day, the same thing happened , but till 3 am on, air-con was just like a fan with power of 1 and all of us were sweating but could not do anything because its the last day of our stay because we were going out about 6 am. my tip is , if it doesn't worked the way you want even the first 30 minutes just tell them and don't start to unpack your bags it will make you even more lazy to change the room at midnight.

Friendship motel stay...
I had a room on the first floor. Literally good for one person. The room is tiny, no window, no air-conditioning. There was a fan to keep the air moving. Unfortunately this is a good thing managed well. There is no way to make reservations unless you show up to see what's available. On post-it notes you'll find dates and names of people that are waiting to have their stay. Everything is written by hand. That's right no computer. I needed 10 days could only get three. I'd stay here again if booking was easier. If you can get a room it's worth it. That's if you don't mind the hassle.

Good stay
Thank you auntie receptionist for her courage to get 1 room ready for me at 0930 hrs with discounted price. Those whose love outing with minimum budget for accomodation, this motel was a good choice. The blankets were smell clorox but for me it was a proof of it had been cleaned before given to guests.

Hotel itself: avoid it. Georgetown: no idea why Lonely Planet put it in 4th top place to visit in 2016. My guess us they have started counting backwards. There are many more places worth a visit to see Asia heritage.

Roof over your head
We paid just a bit over £11 for one night as we just wanted somewhere to stay for the night. For the money spent I didn't expect too much from the Motel even after reading reviews about the issues with the toilet. Unluckily for us, we got Room 224 and the toilet clogged twice. The staff are quick to respond and the toilet was unclogged quite soon after we called for help. Word of warning, do not pour any sugary drinks down the sink. We poured an unfinished coffee down the sink and although we washed it down with water straight after, the sink was infested with ants by the time we got back in the evening. The lady at reception is nice and friendly and she explained where to go for good food. The air-con works perfectly and the bed is comfy, just don't mind the old blanket the bed is clean. You need to get the Wi-Fi password from reception but the one given to us was wrong. The connection wasn't great anyway in our room. All in all, it's not a terrible place to stay. If you want a cheap place and are not embarrassed about clogging people's toilets then this might just be the place for you.

The first night we were in the terrible room! Smelt bad (smoking), dirty. The second night was more better - another room. Quite clean, smelt normally. Bad wifi - does not work. Friendly personal. Possible to buy some basic food and cosmetics.
