TV wasn’t working, no towels. Basically an empty room with bed, do not get tempted with the image advertised.

We booked our deluxe room two months back through agoda. When we just landed in Penang, we received a call from the agent of H Residence telling us that our room is shared toilet and if we can't accept it, we can cancel our room and they will do full refund. We get very frusfrated as we just landed in Penang and have received such a bad experience. We couldn't accept this as it is not written shared toilet when we booked, and they should have informed us earlier. We insist to meet up with them for full explanation. Apparently the management sent their new staff to entertain us saying the room is last minute can't be used due to maintenance issue. We are really upset and the only reason they can give us is this and insist on giving us full refund. I think this is totally ridiculous and we do believe they might just overbooking. We will definitely not going back to H Residence.

Great at first but on second day onwards....
During check in, the room was nice , clean and spacious. Satisfied with that. But om second day onwards, they wanted us to move to another unit. Here come the nightmare. This room was bad where we have nothing but only bed. At least you shall provide us new towel and drinking water right? And we are like sharing the unit with their officers where the refrigerator was occupied. Normally when you requested customer to change room, it will be very inconvenience for us to move thing, at least better room please. No more choosing this Residence for my subsequent business trip nor family trip.

Spacious but not very clean. The floor is dusty. Shampoo and shower gel are not provided as well. Parking is convenient and safe. As one unit is very big with 6 en-suite rooms inside, so they normally rent to different family and guests. Therefore the living hall and common area have to share with other guests even the shoes rack have to be shared with them.

Out of Expectation
We booked a Deluxe Room for one night. Few days before check in, I was a little uncomfortable when I read some reviews that this was actually a shared condo. First of all, we arrived at 2pm. We were welcomed by the guard in guard house. Please take note that this condo does not have any receptionist, you only required to check in thru the guard house. The guard is very friendly, funny & talkative. (I forgot to ask his name) We were informed that our rooms is still in cleaning progress, so we parked our car & walk to the shopping mall nearby Gurney Paragon which takes around 10-15 minutes. The guard brief to us how was the condo working and we were informed that it is a shared condo with 6 separated rooms. The only thing I concerned is the bathroom. Was it shared too? The guard replied "nope, each room comes with one bathroom" Thanks God! We walked into the units given, we are very surprised that the condo is actually very spacious! The living room is huge with an amazing sea view! There are also other guests staying in the same condo unit with us too. So we shared the living room, dining room, balcony & kitchen. It was really out of our expectation when we entered our given room. Its was spacious & clean. Bathroom is spacious comes with a small bath tube too! We have an amazing Penang town view & sea view especially in night time. The in-room wifi is weak, this is might be because the wifi modem is in living room. The condo also comes with parking bay, swimming pool, gym, playground & sauna too. The swimming pool is big & clean. Everything is out of my expectation although is was a shared condo. Value for money & you get what you have, distance walking to nearby shops & shopping mall where this condo is located near Gurney Drive. Please be reminded that this is a shared condo, it would be more suitable for big group of families. If you are concerned for privacy, this could not be your choice. The owner / management should state clearly that this is a shared condo in every travel website. I have read many bad reviews on this condo, hopefully everything can be improve in future. During our stay, overall its okay for me. The only thing I must praise is the friendly guard! I shall consider to stay here in future with my families in future. =D

We booked a room for 4 via booking.com last July, 2017. We stayed there because it is just walking distance from G hotel where we were supposed to attend a conference for 2 days. On the 2nd day of our stay, at around 5 or 6 pm, an Indian guy (the owner) and the Chinese agent told us that we had to leave by 12 nn on the next day as they will be having a maintenance on the whole floor. According to them there will be no electricity and water supply. They weren't even apologetic and just told us that it wasn't their fault. They were even complaining that we weren't in our rooms when they tried to inform us earlier on that same day. They told us that they will be refunding our 1 night worth of stay. We weren't able to get our refund that time as we have already booked a ride somewhere so we agreed to contact each other via what's app since we didn't buy a sim. Later that evening, we already booked another hotel. They were also unreachable via what's app. The next morning before coming to the conference, we borrowed a phone from the guard to contact the number that they gave us. While talking to the Indian guy, he told us that we can already stay but we refused as we have already booked another hotel. We agreed to just get the refund but asked if they can let us keep our bags in the room until 5 pm because we can't bring it in the conference. They refused and just suggested that we have our bags transferred in their office because according to them water may flood up in our room because of that "maintenance." It was hard for us to trust them with our luggages so we just let them know that we have video recorded our whole conversation just in case they didn't keep our luggages safe. Later after the conference, we were able to get our luggages but it took a long time. Their admin just kept on passing in front of us without even bothering to help us get our things. Upon transferring to the new hotel, I received 2 e-mails from booking.com. The first one says that I need to fix my card as the hotel could not access it. The 2nd one says that our booking at the hotel was cancelled because of my card. So I wasn't able to rate them at booking.com, plus they were even trying to steal money from my card. Good thing I didn't put enough money on that card and didn't have it activated outside the country on purpose.
