Small rooms but good value for money
We stayed here for two nights. The location of this hotel is great - really close to Petaling street and very easy to reach with public transport - Pasar Seni station is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The rooms are small but okay. Ours could have used a little more cleaning, there was some mould in the bathroom and near the airconditioner, but nothing too bad. It was a bit noisy though. Wi-Fi works really well and staff is very helpful. We really liked the free drinkwater dispensers! All in all a good stay and also important: not too expensive! We'll probably come back at the end of our trip.

Excellent value for money; Highly recommended for budget travellers
Excellent value for money, given the price. Neat and clean furnishings and rooms. Staff is excellent. AC and wifi worked great. They have a drinking water dispenser machine on each floor which not many hotels provide. Location is good, just 3 minute walking distance from Pasar Seni MRT station and 6-7 minute taxi rise to KL Sentral. Walking distance to Chinatown, Merdeka Square, Central Market and Little India tourist areas. It has a nice roof-top restaurant too. Highly recommended for budget travellers

Great little hotel for the price
I was in search of a relatively inexpensive hotel for my stay in KL for 6 days and ended up landing on Rain Forest Hotel because of its great reviews! I was unsure about location (not knowing what it would mean to be staying in Chinatown or elsewhere within he city), so I booked a room for two hoping for the best and I am glad I did. The hotel is literally right across the street from the big Petaling night market. Lots and lots of shopping, touristy things to knock off bags, and of course lots of food options. This hotel is actually very centrally located around a lot of things to do in KL. There is a big mall a few min walk away, a bird park, a Hindu temple, a Chinese temple, AND Coffee Amo is also literally a two min walk away (if you're looking for good coffee which happens to have adorable foam art). The reception is 24/7 and they are exceptionally nice and speak excellent English. But for me personally the best part of the stay in this hotel was the water dispenser they have placed on every floor (that's a first for me, is this standard?) That means no need to haul giant bottles or gallons of water from a nearby convenience store back to your room, and they provide a carafe and glasses for you. The rooms are pretty small and potentially windowless, no cooking options either, but you're in Chinatown... go out and eat! Depending on your priorities windows may be more important than easy access drinking water. My top priority is always water. So the water dispenser was GREAT.

Awesome stay at the heart of Chinatown
On booking, we were directed by Irene from the reception about transportation from the Airport. We took the Star shuttle from KLIA2 for 12MYR per head and got down at Pudu Sentral stop; the journey took around 1h 15mins. After that, we walked through Petaling street market and found the hotel right where the market ends. It is at walking distance to the green line (Maharajalela) and Pasar Seni train line. We booked this place twice (and traveled to Langkawi in between). Our rooms were provided to us after the check-in formalities (we reached at around 10:30). We had a window-less twin room on the top floor, and a double room on the first floor the first time. The second time, we got the same room on the top floor and another double one in the ground floor. Because of the missing windows, they have wallpaper at the head of the bed with scenes from the beach/ garden/ Eiffel tower. I am somewhat claustrophobic but did not have any problem. They had a ventilating fan as well as a normal wall mounted fan in each room, other than an AC with separate remote. Other than the double room which had spacious attached bathrooms, we also had shared bathrooms and toilets (4 each) on the top floor. They also have 6 basins at the end of the corridor. We never had to wait for our turn, and always found these cleaned very frequently. Our towels and sheets were also spotless There were hot and cold water dispensers on each floor, and free maps were provided as well. They also had a fridge and microwave oven on the top floor and had a sit-out with 3 tables and chairs/ benches. On a couple of occasions, we too enjoyed our dinner here. The receptionists are very friendly and help with suggestions on transportation, food, etc. Awesome wifi too! We were also able to leave our luggage here for 3 days while we traveled to Langkawi. If I'm back in KL, I'll surely be back again!
