Off the beaten path <不一样的金马仑> Rain forest inn is a perfect getaway for those who want to escape from the city and reconnect with nature. This is a place where everything back to simple and basic. It surrounds you in tropical bird song and the sounds of waterfall. “Five stars hotel” I would say! The owner and staff are very humble and accommodating. The place is hard to find but don’t worry, they will show you the way. What you need to do is inform them once you arrived the Ringlet Petronas station. The native dinner and nasi lemak breakfast were awesome! Love it very much! Had a great time here and definitely will be back!

We wanted our 11 and 6 year old to get away from city life and experience nature close up. The absence of WiFi made it even more attractive! We were not disappointed as the beauty and cleanliness of the resort far exceeded our expectations. The hospitality offered by John, Gee Tatt and Muin also made our 4d3n stay very memorable. They were generous with their home grown fruits and information. We learned firsthand about the folk ways of the Orang Asli, and the intimate relationship between the tribes and the land. My family spent hours just playing in the stream among the fishes, resting, reading... amidst the refreshing sound of the waterfall. Lovely.

If you love nature, sound of a waterfall, very very friendly and helpfull people, super diner. Beautiful butterflies and flowers. We really loved this place and had a wonderful time. Swim in the little river, shower under water from the waterfall. Cold but great :-)

Thank you John and Geetatt for a wonderful stay in your beautiful inn and thanks Muin for all the delicious meals!! The inn was very clean for accommodation in the middle of the jungle and the jungle tour and tea plantation tour you arranged for us was great fun! Will be recommending to all my friends to stay with you if visiting Cameron highlands!

This place is one of the top authentic cultural experiences i have ever had. As per all the other reviews Geetatt and John are the most generous helpful hosts at one of the most scenic locations imaginable. We originally came here for a short stay to see the attractions of Cameron highlands and stayed for an extra night and didnt bother leaving because everything in Cameron Highlands just felt tacky and crass after our time here. John has set this place up to share the culture of his tribe and to provide opportunities for his community which is something that in its self is something that made our stay so wonderful. This place also teamed with the largest variety of the most beautiful insects i have ever seen with small fish swimmming amongst us as we swam. Make sure you head up the hill behind the accommodation for a walk along forest trails and a swim where the community still practice there traditional way of life, a moment of euphoria for me, shangri-la indeed. We came with our 3 year old son who thoroughly enjoyed both the rooms and the food plus we could barely drag him away from the beautiful creek that ran through the property. After having so many rules that he had to follow during the rest of our trip due to safety and hygiene concerns it was refreshing for both him and us that they were all thrown out the window within moments of arriving. Maybe next time when we return (which we will) you will get a high five from him Geetatt!

So here is what happens when you go to Rain Forest Inn: You will be greeted by Geetatt (The Inn manager) or his wife at Petronas petrol station in Ringlet. they will pick you up and take you to the place which is 20 min away from Ringlet. As soon as you enter the place you will get the idea of what you will be expecting. this place is in the heart of the forest but protected and very secure. You will go through a gate and pass the Pineapple and passion fruit tree`s. Geetatt or others will give you some if they are ripped enough so don`t make my mistake and pick one yourself, although the staff are too nice that they dont mind at all.. basically you instantly feel at home.. The room is very cozy and clean, don`t expect anything fancy but well this is a different experience. have you ever slept under a mosquito net? you will never forget the experience. There is a small waterfall nearby, the sound of the waterfall is memorizing.. you will get the best sleep you can ever have. You will have outlet to charge your phone and enough coverage to use it. there are also hair dryer, electric kettle and clean towels.. John and Uncle will show you how natives used to (and still) hunt. you can shoot with blowguns. There are no additional fees for this, and that why this place feels like home, unlike other places you don`t have a feeling that they expect you to spend.. All the staff do is to help you have a good time and they do this in such a genuine way. Remember I mentioned the small waterfall?! That`s how you can start your day in Rain Forest Inn! Dip into the fresh clean waters of Cameron highlands.. I attached some pictures.. its heavenly trust me.. I don`t really write reviews, and this one was not just because I had an amazing time here, but because I got to know amazing people whom I will never forget. my faith in humanity was restored when our car broke down in the middle of nowhere at 11 midnight where there were no mobile coverage and eventually locals lend us their motor bike and spend hours with us and guide us to the nearest place to make a call (with zero expectation and purely out of good will) and Geettat (Our Rain Forest Inn manager) found me in the middle of the night, took me back to the Inn, gave me a room (free of charge!!!!!) and the day after, he personally helped me tow the car and fix it. He made many calls to find me the best deal to fix the car!!! and all this is by someone who barely knows me... or the locals who didn`t know me at all.. I don`t know where you are from but I have visited at least 30 countries and never came across anything like this before.. This place, These people, deserve their very high ratings.. I really hope I get a chance to visit this place again.
