The Swiss-Garden Hotel Melaka is situated in the centre of Melaka’s historical city. Despite the city’s diverse mixture of culture and centuries-old history, the hotel offers guests a slice of the modern world accompanied by luxury and comfort. The hotel is strategically located in the centre of Melaka overlooking Melaka’s World Heritage zone as well as the Jonker Street. Jonker Street Night Market - Jalan Hang Jebat or also known famously as Jonker Walk or Jonker Street is a must-visit place whenever you visit this historical city of Melaka. It is the Chinatown of Melaka located just across the river of the Dutch Square which is certified by UNESCO as one of the World Heritage sites. Flanked by houses and shops that dated back to the 17th century, this bustling area is still alive as ever. Rich with its culture and diversity, its historical background of the Baba Nyonya still lives until today. Today, this street is filled with various shops selling many kinds of things such as textiles, accessories, antiques, food, handicrafts and souvenirs and this place is similar to Kuala Lumpur’s Pasar Seni or Central Market. On weekends, this area is closed off from traffic as this area turns into a bustling and crowded night market. This place is best visited during weekends and at nights. From the hotel, Jonker Street is simply 15 minutes away by walking, or you can hail a taxi there.
