The owner (Alan) was very considerate. He gave us the best deals (maybe not all), but he was very helpful. He gave us very good discounts and help us our way through the City. He gave us tips on what to do and encouraged us to go to other places. The cabin was also great, clean, organized and comfy. Mr. Alan referred us to his great friend Mr Fred (Dato Chua Kim) who was the owner of the Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort [I highly recommend this resort! - good food, great people!]. He was very kind enough to give us a tour of the "Old china town" of Borneo. He told us about the history and its original people. I recommend this place. Location very convenient and within the heart of Kota. Really nice for backpackers.
Very good services. Recommended!

Good location and value for money
Stayed here for 7 nights back in July and on the whole, the hostel was good with clean rooms and helpful staff. The only problem was that mid week, the lock broke on the room meaning it had to be broken off and we had no locked door for 2 nights but the gates on each floor prevented any unwanted people getting in.

Very good hostel for a very good price!
We stayed in Jesselton Cabin on our last two nights in KK after a three week expedition in Borneo. It was cheaper than our first hostel at the start of the trip in KK but was so much better! We stayed in a dorm and we had a whole floor which was locked at night so we felt safe. The toilets were also clean and the showers were warm. There was a little space in the middle of our rooms where there were some chairs and cushions to sit on and downstairs was a television, drinks fridge, kettle, toaster and dining table and a range of spreads and jams were available with toast in the morning. The location was perfect, straight onto a busy street where the market was (would recommend going to this) and not too far from good eateries. Also has a laundry service for a small fee. Would highly recommend!

Great value for money
Staff very friendly and helpful, lots of information available for tours/trips, but they also give you advice on which ones you can do on your own. Nice open plan kitchen/living room with animal documentaries always on tv. Simple Breakfast of toast, fruit, with coffee/tea available 24/7. Clean cool rooms, hot, powerful showers and fridges with drinks/beers and crisps you can buy. Not really a party lodge as accommodates all- we had a school party. Great value for money, close to everything 👌🏽

Good location
Well I stayed here a few nights whilst getting my bearings. The location is really good amongst the restaurants and walking distance to most things in KK. The guys working at the desk are friendly and quite helpful on getting around. There is a simple free breakfast which is bread and a few condiments. Nice for the low cost accomodation. The only couple down sides is one of the toilets upstairs has a leak which you need to position your feet so you don't get wet. Relax it's just fresh water. The time I was there it was pretty quiet and not a lot happening with guests. Factoring how budget this place is, I think its fine for a set up before heading out on an adventure. Expect a pretty simple set up. Oh yeh wi fi worked in the place, so that's handy. Cheers.

Felt like home :)
because we were unsure about our plans and the hostels quality we first booked only one night at jesselton cabin! after the first night we extended up to 3 :) The hostel is a very clean and comfortable accomondation.. no luxury but also not the poorest thing you can book! our room got AC from 7-7.. totally fine! common area comes with tv (cable), nice seating area, computer with internet and printer if needed, a basic 'mini-shop' where you can get snacks or cheap drinks already cooled :-) (can of tiger 5rm!) they got a little kitchen with 24h free coffee and tea.. and real cream, no powder :-D outside area is easy with some place to sit and drink, play cards, etc.. free breakfast offers the best toast we've had so far + jam, peanut butter and some fresh fruits. there are like 5 young locals which keep this thing going! all are friendly and open minded and ready for a recommendation or a chat if wanted! then and now, friends or family come over for a visit.. totally recommend, not just because of the hostel itself but als cause of its great location right in KK!
