Absolutely disgusting
Stayed here for two nights in October and it is revolting, the room had mould all through the bathroom and the shower roof is ready to collapse, the room looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months and the bedding had cigarette burns throughout... this place should be shutdown.

Nice view.. Peaceful
Nothing much to do here.. But location very peaceful.. Far from hustle bustle .. 5min walking to jetty.. Across to pangkor island only take less than 1/2hour. Hotel nice. Breakfast so far so good . Hotel quite old. However staff so nicely. Amenities complete. Easy to find sea catch such as salted fish...satay ikan.. And many more. Not many activities can do here. But OK for relax.

You get what you pay for
Alright, so, full disclosure I have used very few of the hotels amenities as I visited for work, This review focuses mainly on the room. Its very dated. Very little upkeep has been carried out on the room over the years and it shows on all the fixtures. The bed sheets are clean however the bed itself is not and it has become quite worn. The furniture is scuffed but functional. The towels, which is a strange item to review, have definitely been washed ALOT. The shower and bathroom in general could certainly do with being refreshed. Most of the paint shows clear evidence of being poorly patched in the past rather than the whole room repainted. The other "complaint" is that there are alot of bugs in the room. And i mean alot. everywhere... The aircon was functional but that was it. Years ago, most likely a few years after being built, im sure this was a great hotel however in 2017 it is run down, dirty and looks tired. I will say this for it, the pool looks nice, the staff are all friendly and if you want a budget hotel (between $30-$40 a night) then this will fit the bill. If you are expecting the advertised 3 star hotel, you will be bitterly disappointed. One other plus, its only a 2 minute walk to the bars...

Grand ld lady very tired and in need of an upgrade
Oriental Star in Lumut situated downtown Lumut has a nice swimming pool and the breakfast is good, rooms are extremely tired and in dire need of an upgrade/renovation Staff is friendly and helpful, they host a number of local reunions weekly and hotel is popular with the KL folks in weekend and PH. Not recommended when stay on business, there are more suitable places in Lumut

Hotel is running down.
Pros: Great location Cons: 1. Flies everywhere 2. Room rundown 3. Dirty toilet 4. Sticky floor 5. Smelly air-conditioning 6. RM30 car parking - directly in front of hotel ( This is RIDICULOUS, the hotel is not located in the main city & it is not a 5 star hotel!) The hotel is NOT clean and NOT well managed.
