Nice location and great English meal
Great stay, very professional and friendly staffs. Unique and beautiful building.
It's a great and romantic place.
Actually we are booking for deluxe room but I was pregnant 8 month the management upgrade our room to suite room without any charge. We stay at suite room. It is the best babymoon experience I ever had. I also enjoy my maternity shoot only at the hotel area. Sure will come again with our little angel.
Enjoyed my stay here. Will definitely visit the hotel again.
The breakfast is good! Relax environment
The hotel so quiet and staff also so friendly. Very great stay
The stay was worth every $$ since it includes traditional English breakfast of freshly baked muffins, toast with butter and jam, and croissant was soft and warm. The meal followed by eggs, baked beans, bakes tomatoes, wild mushrooms and sausages. We were informed that only for breakfast the meal would be Halal (we are Muslims), we have opted to avoid any meat altogether but was still given chicken sausages. You just need to inform the butler/waiter and explain your conditions for no meat breakfast. In other note, we actually booked a deluxe room and was upgraded to a junior suite upon check-in. It was a nice gesture as we had to pass by the corridors leading up to our room on the 3rd floor overlooking the lush green and full of flower blooms of the beautiful garden. The room was sufficient with complimentary fruit basket. When we arrived in the evening, there were other guests having tea in the garden compound, one of them even had ukulele, so the ambience was lovely we also joined to have tea. Night time can be too quiet but we went down to the living hall and there were a few families there, so were assured that we weren't the only ones staying there. It was cold but there was no heater, so we just shut the windows and turned on the air purifier provided in the room.
Not worth, smelly, payment for 3 guest but they only prepare 2 single bed but 3 set of pillow, breakfast too simple
Impressed. Friendly staffs, good food (we had breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner there), lovely garden and surrounding, nice old buildings. We would love to revisit again. Suggestion to hotel management: provide slippers in the room, as the floor is icy cool.

A old charming small hotel in the middle of Cameron Highland. Build in 1937 with British charm and old fashioned furnished. It’s a jungle out there. Beautiful orchids and flowers everywhere. Very nice food and wines.

We travelled by car from KL for a weekend visit to the Cameron Highlands, we usually live in the UK. The construction of the hotel is colonial, i guess dating back to Malaya and British rule We were welcomed in the car park by a delightful receptionist named Bernic (I hope i have her name right). We checked in and had 3 adjacent rooms in a annex to the main building. These rooms very very comfortable and tastefully furnished, with clean bathrooms and some little extras which you sometimes are not provided. We went back to the main building for our dinner, where we were hosted by Joe a pleasant and knowledgeable guy. The bar had a lovely log fire burning and lovely chairs. When our food was ready we were called into the dining room, a room which in my opinion replicated a UK hotel dining room in the post war era. I was disappointed in my food, I ordered Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding, the meat was tough and the potatoes were not properly roasted, my wife and friends were also a little disappointed in their food. We all slept well in our rooms and next morning enjoyed our complimentary breakfast in a glass conservatory next to the dining room. I really enjoyed my British cooked breakfast which was served by a local lady. The gardens at the Smokehouse are amazing, complete with a British red telephone kiosks, we took a leisurely walkaround the grounds before departing and doing battle with the weekend Cameron Highlands traffic. I would recommend the hotel to anyone who wants a boutique style of hotel, my only reservation from giving an excellent rating was the quality of the evening meal

English style boutique hotel with amazing garden
The room is spacious, the lobby is nice with all the english-style decorations and the garden is amazingggg. The food is average but the staffs are helpful and friendly. The location is great and very close to the new night market place (within walking distance).

Disappointing dinner
We have eaten at this restaurant on three trips to the highlands. The last time was last week. We reserved a table for dinner at the smokehouse for a sat night. We arrived 10 mins early and headed to the bar for a drink. There was one person working in the bar. It was quite full (but with no more than 10 people). We waited over 30 mins for a drink. It was at least 30 mins later again when our food order was taken (we were only asked for starters and main courses). When the food was served we moved to a very pleasant table. The food was less pleasant. Caesar salad as commented on by another recent reviewer was swimming in a sauce which was not Caesar dressing. It was very oily and garlicky. The main courses were ok but one meal was completely cold and one did not match the menu description (rack of lamb was actually more like mutton chops). The others were ok but overpriced. We asked to see a dessert menu when finished the main courses and were told the kitchen was closed. It was well before 10pm and we had been given no warning that the kitchen was closing. There were many tables still eating. Service and food could be so much better here. The setting is so lovely it is such a shame about the service and food. We won't be back.

Convenient area, Reasonable cost, Vintage decoration
The resort a bit old but It's convenient. There are park-lots. The breakfast was nice like British. and I love the designed building and beautiful decoration like a summer cottage in the UK. The room are big and decorated nicely. The garden so green and full of the flowers.
