Toilet air suction not working. Aircon temperature control not working. Bathtub water tap not working. Complained but told nothing can be done. Not able to get anywhere over phone we went to their front desk, receptionist was impolite. She complained openly about our requests to colleagues not realising we understood the language. Good looking hotel but low class management.
Very exclusive and comfortable room.
We are disappointed about dishonest of Thistle JB. How can a 4 star hotel let their customer to stay in the room that surrounded by all the renovation works going rooms? Don't you know the painting smell are very strong and toxic? And not only that, the wall drilling sound in the early morning also super annoying! We chosen to stay in your hotel is because we thought can rest well, and enjoy the hotel environment. But now it seems worst than any lousy motel! My baby admitted hospital (emergency) at the first night we put in your hotel due to breathing difficulty and we found out the source is actually from your hotel bad renovation environment! Dusty, painting, drilling works and etc. This is definitely unfair to customer, this is not what we have paid for! We check out on the 2nd day.
Rooms were comfortable and check-in / check-out was easy. Limited choice for dining.

This is the second time I've stayed at the hotel. Overall the hotel is good. The service can be better. I was expecting excellent customer for this hotel but it's disappoint me again.
The hotel is old, so some of furniture were outdated, there's a renovation in some room so it's a little noisy during daytime, pool was great big, we only purchase breakfast on our first day since the food were not so tasty, but no worry there is some things in front of hotel and also local food stall near hotel. Big plus for me is the free shuttle service from hotel to JPO, Legoland and JB sentral, so its quite useful for big group like mine.
Decent for short stay. Pillows too soft.

Clean room, strategic place. The bathroom is ok in size. It is located at the centre of the city. Overall a nice place to stay but its kinda expensive because of the brand. The breakfast is moderate. Overall good.

1 night stayed at the hotel for business trip. The room is clean but had some odour and got some mark spot at the pillow, towel and curtain. Breakfast menu look slightly variety but tasteless n plain. One of BIG name & Popular Hotel in JB but the staying excitement is moderate

Worst service
Dear General Manager, Since 2014 my first choice of stay is thistle. I love the rooms, exterior and interior of the hotel and best service by Mr Arnel and Mr Shariff. In my recent stay on 5/8/2017, Saturday was the worst service I have received. Your staff Mr Aliff is the worst Duty Manager I have met in all of my stays in any hotel. He told us there was not any rooms available when it was already 1.10pm. He told us we have to wait for our room and could not tell us how long. I was not happy at this time as it was my 6 months infant birthday we decided to celebrate it at thistle. We requested for high floor, upgrade of room and early check in at 11am and clean rooms. We have already sent an email to Kurtsean and he told us our request have already been put up and it was also confirm over the phone. We assume as usual our request would be confrim as he did not state it is subject to availability and also in our recent stay on 23 june 2017 was confirm too. Mr Aliff the Duty Manager actually argued with us saying he can't do anything as there are no rooms leaving us to standing and waiting at the lobby with our 6 months infant, Ms. Sofia came to assist us with our booking and told us we have to wait atleast 40mins to 1 hours for a room. We were tired of arguing as we have a infant to care for. Mr Aliff showed a unhappy face to me and my baby, he even glared at us. As a Duty Manager he is suppose to welcome guest which he did not at all. We were left standing at the lobby for 15mins, no drinks were serve to us as guests. At this point I did not feel welcome at all. So Mr azami Duty Manager lead us to the lounge to take a sit while waiting. Again no waiter or manager ask if we wanted any complimentary drinks or any drinks to be purchase. Sick of waiting,we called up a waiter While waiting n requested purchase drinks and waited for 1 hour and our room not not ready yet, they promise us 40mins but we waited for an hour no one came to us to apologise for lateness. Ms Sofia mentioned that she will be able to ready a room by 2pm or before that.We urgently needed a room as we need to feed our baby and our baby was already sleepy and we did not have any baby stroller with us, so my husband came up to the counter and ask if our room is ready as it is more then 1 hour which was 2.20pm. Ms. Sofia said "ouh you already receive your key right" which we did not. So she proceeded to give us our key and no upgrade of room is received, only a complimentary executive club and breakfast at executive club which doesn't have any varieties of drinks of any food. So we went ahead to switch to breakfast at fresh. I went to executive club lounge on the next day and was serve by Faleq who also was rude as he told me i could not take any drinks till he check if my room was entitle to. My hubby came to the executive lounge the night before and there were'nt any checking done and the staff who was at the counter did not welcome him but glared at him instead and did not understand the meaning of '"can drinks". Mr faleq told me there is not a reason for me to be angry. He told me i should not be angry in a harsh tone. This is my worst stay by far i was really angry throughout the stay and was not please in any way. I would like to receive a follow up call. Thanks. I would really love to post a bad review on this hotel on the social media as well.

Poor Quality Services
Reception was not to standard. Very slow in service provided. Not friendly. Breakfast was hopeless & very limited choice. Not a good hotel to stay for vegetarians as they do not wish to provide vege menu. Even request vege menu on a group package they're chargeable....nonsenses. No steam & suana facility provided but they introduce private & chargeable no quality of 4* at all. Safe your money for other better hotels in JB.

Old on the outside but chic on the inside
The toilet abit outdated... The room was clean with huge comfortable bed and bedding... Never tried the pool but the location of the pool does not looked private... Relatively busy hotel with a lot of guests...
