Equal amount of pros and cons
The design of the room/hotel is super nice and inviting! The receptionist was alright (no complains there). The room i booked was a double bed room. It had a double decker thing with beanies on top and a double bed with a tv on the bottom. It's not really old-folks friendly and it's more catered towards youngsters tastes haha 😂My room was at the ground floor and i had trouble connecting to the wifi so you might need a simcard with data (if you're not local). The location is also good, only if you have your own transportation. It'd be a hassle to go into famous places in Malacca if you stayed here without your own transport. The hotel is also very near to the famous Klebang Coconut Shake ! And the man made Klebang beach. There is a dobi next to the hotel too. The towels need to be properly cleaned as i saw stains. Overall 7/10 for a budget hotel. Can't complain with the price i paid.

Middle of nowhere
Nice and quirky hotel rooms, but the hotel itself is in the middle of nowhere and taxi is the only way to the centre. Staff speaks very poor English. There's nothing near the hotel except tire shops and gasoline stations. Wifi sucks also. I can't recommend the experience.

Nice little budget hotel
We were not searching for a hotel in that area, but chanced upon it when we saw the self-serve laundry on the ground floor. It was a new budget hotel which had just opened less than a month. It had a quirky 'tube' theme, i.e. tubes or pipes used as part of the decor in the room, functioning as support for the bed, towel rack etc. in the rooms. The reception was on the right side of the building (the left side, on ground floor was the self-serve laundry). Once registered, you will be led up a staircase to the 1st floor, where many of the rooms were. I later found out there were a few other rooms on the ground floor too, but their entrances were at the back of the building. The entry to the 1st floor is to be via an electronic keycard to ensure security, but when we were there it was not yet functioning (soon, I guess). We were given a normal key to enter our room. Car parks were available all around the building. The 2nd floor of the building was not yet opened, but the management planned to have a dining area (for breakfast) there soon. We took the room for three persons, where there was a Queen-sized bed, and on top of it was a single bed. Not a big room, but being a budget hotel it was enough comfort for 3 persons: It had a sink outside the bathroom. The bathroom had a shower and a WC. An air-conditioning unit was also available. Wifi password was given when we registered for the room. We liked the fact that a self-serve laundry was on the ground floor. And at night, a stall would open in front of the building, selling food. It is not far from other eateries too. Yes, we liked the hotel - suitable for short stay. We were there for only 1 night. Cons: No wardrobe and towel / clothes rack space was limited. But we were OK with that as we weren't staying there for a long time.

New quirky budget hotel just outside of Melaka (Malacca) Town
We found this hotel while searching for a self-serve laundry and a small hotel to stay for one night. We made a wrong turning and saw the huge laundry on the ground floor of the building. This hotel had its small front desk tucked away in the front corner of that same building. Upon inquiry, I was informed that for a 3-bedded room, the price would be RM150 (approx USD37 according to July 2016 exchange rate) for the weekend. A refundable RM50 deposit was also payable upfront. They also have the Double Room and Family Room (8 pax). I believe there were 10 rooms available in total, located the ground floor (at the back of the building) and on the 1st floor. The top (2nd floor) would have a cafeteria, but was not operational at that time as they could not find a cook yet. The lady at the front desk told me the hotel had just opened two weeks prior! The room had basic amenities. Beds with pillows, clean linens and towels provided. Air-conditioning unit, one flat screen TV, enough power outlets to charge phones and laptops, shower, WC. No minibars, slippers like the upscale hotels. In my opinion it would cater to the budget / backpacker crowd. It was enough for me who had wanted to spend just one night there on a budget! The room was not large, it could have been not more than 200sf, but they managed to put in the 3rd bed on top of the 2 other beds by hanging it from the high ceiling! Having a self-service laundry on the ground floor is a plus. Once the cafeteria on the 2nd floor opens, I believe many more will come to stay at the hotel. Downside: the place to hang our clothes and towels were very limited for the 3 of us in the room. Oh, and they name it 'Tube Hotel' I guess because they use pipes / tubes as part of the fixtures and fittings in the rooms and as decor on the building's external facade. I hope they maintain the hotel well. As of now it is very new, so all facilities are in good working order. Small Ironing board and iron was made available upon request.
