A fantastic hotel in a great location for exploring Oaxaca. The rooms are large, well decorated and immaculately clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful, while the breakfast is one of the best I’ve had. Highly recommended.

We were soo happy to have picked this place! It was quaint, personable and in a perfect location! The breakfast was delicious! Made with thought and care. We stayed in the back room which seemed to be quieter but had the opportunity to view the other front rooms which were just as beautiful but on a busy street! just bring ear plugs;) We loved the staff and will recommend it!

Lovely property, each of the rooms is large, comfortable, and stylish. Great and friendly staff. Breakfast is delicious and served in the charming courtyard. Bathroom was stunning and spacious. Only critique is that the 2 rooms facing the street are quite loud - there was some contruction and traffic on the street - could use some soundproofing for those two rooms. Or bring earplugs.

This hotel was amazing !!! It was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The gates are locked and there are cameras so we felt very safe . The staff working here are amazing .. they were all friendly and helpful and did everything to make your stay enjoyable. They cooked delicious hot breakfasts, called for transportation, kept the entire place spotlessly clean , gave excellent recommendations and always with a smile . The location was a short distance to shops and restaurants so walking was easy. If we come back to Oaxaca, we will definitely stay here again .

My stay at Casa Carmen was wonderful. The hotel has great artwork and decor. Very relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are very large and spacious. I am most grateful for the staff who were very accommodating to all my requests (laundry, transportation, etc). There was someone on site 24/7 so it felt very safe. The other huge plus is that this hotel is within walking distance to basically everything in Centro, museums, restaurants, squares, etc. Great stay overall, would recommend and would return!

It is as great as pictures. You need to appreciate its modern design and it's great location near the Zocalo, Cathederals, and many restaurants. It is super clean, very reasonable price for the 1st class accommodations. The morning breakfasts were super - plentiful selection of full breakfast items daily. Attentive staff, super friendly - even of you don't speak Spanish. They use an Spanish-English translator on their phones so you hear what they say is English. We would stay there again.

Not worth the money. Stay ANYWHERE else. Mediocre location, average service from a couple of teenagers, and misleading photos best describe the stay at Casa Carmen. Don't be fooled by the photos, the rooms interior that effectively face inward to common areas with no proper windows or ventilation. The photos appear quite pleasant, but the reality in Casa Carmen is nothing like it is depicted. It smells stuffy and musty. Its decor appears fun and artsy in photos but is truly tacky and dated in person. The was the most disappointed stay I have had through Hotels.com ever. How can Casa Carmen resolve problems if it's employees are 18 year old kids with no real hospitality experience?
