It was easy for me to find, being a first time visitor. The service was good and the dining was excellent,

Nice place to stay, owners were very friendly and helpful only drawback was that the restaurant was not open for evening meals

I cannot rate this hotel high enough,from check in till our departure we were treated so well by the friendly owner and his staff. The rooms were amazing,very,very clean,the breakfast was super and tasty and lots of it. The surrounding area is so quiet and if that’s what you’re after then this hotel is ideal. We would definitely stay there again, oh and thank you for the early check in,I really appreciated that. Thanks again for everything.

Heel fijne sfeer, rustig gelegen en heerlijk ontbijt. Heel tevreden over het verblijf. Maar schandelijk hoe een vrouwelijke gast tekeer is gegaan tegen eigenaar, omdat de douche koud was. Ook ik heb koud gedoucht s’avonds, maar de volgende ochtend was alles al opgelost. Soms kan er iets mis gaan maar er is alles aan gedaan hoorde ik van de eigenaar om dit snel op te lossen tijdens de nachtelijke uren. Echter voor die mevrouw bestond er geen excuses en met haar geschreeuw was dit vele malen erger voor andere gasten dan een koude douche! Maar mevrouw excuses kunnen altijd nog aangeboden worden!!!

Check in great, rooms were huge, clean and comfortable. evening meal was tasty. All staff were friendly, made us feel welcome, all smiling and gave impression that nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Cannot think of anything to improve this hotel, just carry on doing what you're doing. We will be returning

The hotel is located in a peaceful beautiful rural area in the Netherlands near several significant attractions. It was a wonderful restful stay.

A genuine hotel in the back roads of The Netherlands. Very rural setting with peace and quiet. Everything shuts quite early in these towns so we had to get dinner elsewhere.

Very pleasant quiet place to stay. Nice getaway in the country.

Good 3-Star hotel. Staff were friendly. Rooms were simple but clean. Breakfast was good. The only point I would like to add is that there are no rooms with 2 twin-beds available at this hotel. An extra bed was available. For the future Hotels.com should take note. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel.

Close to assen, lovely people and an amazing restaurant/kitchen, nothing noty to like, well doen to all the team!

I stayed in the Koekoekshof during a trip to the British Super Bikes at Assen. The hotel was excellent, my room was large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious. The surrounding area is delightful, and i could not find fault with the accommodation during my stay therefore i would rate the Koekoekshof with full marks.

Great staff (long-time family owned I believe), nice room, and we had a really wonderful dinner there. Not much (actually nothing) going on in Elp but it is scenic and peaceful.

I was here for one night with my 4 year old daughter. The hotel is hard to find (we drove there), as it is quietly nestled in the stunning countryside of the Netherlands. The hotel looks like someone's home that appears very well maintained. The welcome I received was warm and we were excited to stay. The rooms have a soothing quality about them and appear unique in a sense (with brick walls). The dinner was decent, with good quality ingredients, but overpriced. I ended up paying about 100 euros for a steak plate, chicken nuggets plate, and a cod plate. There was a fly which kept flying around the tables which was disruptive. There was a man who plays multiple roles there, he served food, he was the guest relations person, and he seemed like the security person too. He was about 5'7, dressed casually, and has a receeding hair line. He was mean to me and my child; he offered no help with our luggage when we were picking up our luggage at 9 :30 pm. In fact, he said 'shouldn't she be going to bed?'. I was shocked. Then, the hotel staff locks the doors at night without warning, so guests are locked in. I did not like that. Then, when checking out, he asked if we will eat breakfast and I responded 'no because we are running late, but maybe next time'. He walked away and said 'yeah right, next time'. Wow. He was unprofessional and disrespectful and I was glad to leave asap. Never again. This is unfortunate for my first time in The Netherlands.

The rooms here are modest but roomy, clean and comfortable. The bathroom is a little dated but absolutely fine. We were given a warm welcome, the garage we'd requested for our bicycles was waiting for us and we got a very strong impression of a team who genuinely love what they do and care about their guests. The food was absolutely amazing, and the wine great too. I forgot my Mac power supply, called the hotel and they put it in the post the next morning - great service.

the hotel was great and so was the town... unfortunately the mattress was a little worn out

the setting and ambiance was soothing. the owner was most helpful pointing out the area's attractions.........food was great.

Exellent hotel, family run and nothing is too much trouble. Food was great, would recommend you stay at De Koekoekshof hotel if you are visiting that part of Holland.
