Zaan Hotel Amsterdam - Zaandam

I enjoyed walking around the scenic town, and renting a bicycle from the hotel to cycle to nearby Zaanse Shans. The area around the hotel and station is a little run down and touristy, but being close to the train station was very convenient. The hotel is new and the staff is friendly and helpful.

desk staff very helpful. well stocked breakfast. hotel and accommodation very clean. fridge very welcome as I had medication to be stored in a fridge. In the bedroom a bit more detail on the instructions for the coffee maker as I didn't have one and took a while to find the switch on button and reconnecting the water tank

Just less than a five minute walk from the train station. Very convenient location and staff were very nice. 8/10 for the cleanliness of the rooms.

Restaurant is good, Reception staff no smile, seems not very helpful, however hotel room size is good enough for 3 pax.

Easy access to train

Fantastic staff and super easy to get to the city centre. Nice area with lots of shops and an amazing dining square. Will definitely be booking to come back here!

This was a 30th wedding anniversary trip. We love the Netherlands and thought we would return to celebrate. We booked the Zann Hotel, King Size deluxe room. In advance of the trip, I contacted the hotel to see if I could get some beers for me and Chocomel for our room as a surprise for my wife. The Staff replied and said No to the Chocomel. Yet they place two small beers in the room with a handwritten note. Admittedly they were free Strange really as we were returning guests and know they could have walked 50 metres to the supermarket to get the chocomel. Ok not a big thing, but it would have been a nice touch, as my wife does not drink alcohol. The room..... We were on the 5th floor, a spacious room with some very low angled ceilings, Now I'm 6’4” so I did need to be careful of my head when entering the room. Then the King Size bed.... It was two singles with a foam base, and a mattress topper on top. Not what I would call deluxe. The bed was uncomfortable and not the best. I would even go to say, this was not a deluxe room. Breakfast was not the best compared to the other Hotels in Zaandam. Undercooked pancake made by machine, Scrappy bacon, , Chipolata sausage which were under cooked. Processed scrambled egg and dry pastries. Not a great selection of cereals and the cooked meat looked dried up. We did not eat at the hotel on an evening, so can’t comment. Do Your homework before booking, worth paying a little extra at others.

Used as base for Amsterdam 4 day trip. Hotel very good, clean, comfortable and quiet. Train station 3 minute walk away takes you into central Amsterdam. We had dinner in hotel once and it was great. Breakfast was usual cooked and cold offerings but always good.

Good hotel and great price for the location

The hotel was exactly as we had expected from the photos. The staff were very helpful and friendly and breakfast was excellent.

Nice comfy hotel, walking distance to train station, an easy ride to Amsterdam. Staff are nice and helpful. There is one comment: one day I stayed in the room till around noon, and there was noisy drilling going on. I wish the hotel could warn me upfront. I was trying to catch some sleep that day and its frustrating.

Great stay. Staff were friendly and really helpful. Great location near trains into the city and buses into Zaanse Schans. Hotel was fairly quiet apart from a couple of small groups. Good place to stay if you don’t like the city noise.

Hotel was lovely, room was kept clean everyday. Modern and stylish design. Staff were all lovely.

Had a lovely stay here, staff very friendly and extremely convenient hotel, only a two minute walk from the train station and shops!

My second time staying here and this time was even better..lovely stay. I will always return.

Can’t fault the hotel itself, stunning and felt very safe. Very close to Zaandam train station (3 min walk) and easy to get to central Amsterdam. Slight issues such as other guests were smoking right outside the doors and you would have to walk through it almost every time you left the building. Also paid for late checkout but the cleaner didn’t seem to know this and had to try and explain. Overall, would return and great value for money as we paid under £300 for 4 nights

Amazing hotel! We booked a deluxe room and the room was huge, super comfy king sized bed with the best pillows! The shower was nice and powerful, good sized bathroom, hair dryer. There was a UK socket in the room and some USB sockets. We stayed here for Amsterdam, the train station is literally 4 min walk away and the train into Amsterdam takes 15 mins! It’s so convenient. We had to pay city tax when we checked in, lovely reception area and friendly staff!

Room temperature is “centrally managed”, which means that you can’t up the heat. It was bloody cold in the room and not at all comfortable. The shower was the only source of heat, but the main shower head could use replacement. The room itself was nice and had all the right amenities but again, cold.
