Admiral Motel

This is an old 1960s property which has been amateurishly renovated. Taps and kitchen cupboards are that old! Bedroom is a tight squeeze with 4 bedspaces. It is on main roads with traffic noise and sirens. There are no powerpoints in the bathroom. The microwave was in a dangerous location on top of the fridge. However, the proprietors were helpful and very nice.

I'll definitely recommend the Admiral as I found it very convenient and the owner is very very helpful. The whole stay was seamless. We checked in at midnight, but the owners were so thoughtful that they left some food and biscuits for us at late night.

Excellent location and staff very helpful

The motel was spacious and clean. We had a couple of issues during the first night of our stay, but the owners saw to them as soon as possible. Good location close to the city centre which made all local amenities accessible, especially by car. The owners were very welcoming and are doing their best to inject some life into what is an older style motel.

Not at all what we expected on arrival, walking in to an office that absolutely stunk of cigarette smoke was disgusting.

Nice location, safe place to parkand leave car, exterior and grounds in good condition. Interior is very dated and worn. Kitchen very old, stove very old and dirty, refrigerator old and froze food instead of keeping cold. Couch was old and broken. Carpet old, dirty and frayed. Everything was very old and heavily used.

An older style motel, very clean and decorated nicely. Good amenities with separate bedroom and full kitchen. We only stayed the one night, it was comfortable and fairly close to shops.

Convenient for what we wanted. Nice grounds. Google kept directing us to access from Colombo St which was not possible. Living & bedrooms were nicely done as have been refurbished but bathroom & kitchen are way past their use-by date as is the spouting. Attention to detail in cleaning could be vastly improved.

Nice Host comfortable room

Rose and Terry are the most hospitable and helpful hosts. They went above and beyond to support me in regard to heling me manage my medical condition, moving supplies and no request was too much. They are gems!

The owners where very rude to me * Made to feel unwelcome * Was yelled at by the lady for soiling my sheets and called disgusting, When i am women and got my period in the middle of the night * I was accused of being a working girl because I had a man visit me late at night * And was told I shouldn't be back g sex while on my period * Emailed asking for a late check-out and it was approved than to be yelled at by the man for holding things up however I did explain I had an email saying the late check-out was approved * So to say my stay was terrible is an understatement, However the room was clean and tidy

Rose and Terry were very accommodating and helpful. The unit was comfortable and spacious with lots of amenities.

Lovely spacious 1 bedroom unit, with full kitchen and a bath was a bonus! Top marks for allowing a 12.00 midday checkout at no extra cost. Unfortunately the cleanliness was a let down as was the faulty body wash and empty conditioner dispensers in shower. Overall was a nice 2 day stay and would return.

Room very hot in summer especially room number 7 facing west. Old style rooms with only fan. Only positive is it is very near to city.

Rose was very helpful when we arrived as needed to drop luggage early before returning our car to the airport. The room was lovely. Very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Everything we needed for our stay and convenient for the city. Would recommend and we will be back next time in Christchurch.

Wonderful property! The owner was exceptionally kind and accommodating, allowing me to check out late due to my late arrival. Their compassion and understanding truly stood out. Highly recommended!

Close enough to walk into City Centre.

A good amount of space for a family to stay near Christchurch - very short drive or walk to the CBD area
