Mt Cook View Motel - Fox Glacier

Lovely property, friendly staff, large clean family unit

Room was large, quiet and included a kitchen to cook dinner or breakfast. We got food at town grocery store to cook for both meals. Connor at check in was friendly and provided lots of info. Fox Glacier is a small quiet town. We enjoyed staying here.

Very relaxing and home like stay. Came in with low expectations since this was a small motel ( in my mind ). But was blown away by the thoughtfulness of the setup. Arrived late but the keys were all set up and ready for us without hassle. Comfortable room with kitchenette and upgraded interiors . Very friendly communication both prior and during stay. Very peaceful and away from the hustle of the main motorway. Would have loved to stay longer . Kids rate it higher than some of the larger commercial hotels we stayed in. Thank you!

I cannot speak highly enough of this property. It has the most spectacular views of Mt. Cook, is close to Lake Matheson and the glacier view point. The room was freshly painted, new carpets and beds were super comfy. The host, Matt is a gentleman. For my family, he moved heaven and earth to help. Next time I'm in Fox Glacier, I would only stay there. Oh and the dog is a beauty too.

Really friendly welcoming staff with plenty of local knowledge. Clean tidy accommodation with plenty of space and well equipped kitchen for cooking basic meals. Spacious and comfortable rooms.

Everything was perfect.

Booked Mt Cook View Motel and due to road closures from adverse weather meant we couldn't make the booked date. Spoke to Matthew at the Motel who was very helpful and provided updates to road closures. We managed to move the booking to a later date and arrived to find a very helpful Matthew and well appointed accommodation. Matt pointed out some key activities to make the most of our stay which we followed and which provided some good memories of our stay at Fox Glacier including some awesome views of the glacier. Matt also booked us for a heli flight but unfortunately the weather the next morning wasn't that helpful. With Matt’s help, we had a great stay at Mt Cook View Motel and Fox Glacier including a great meal at Betsey Jane’s.

Excellent value. Ideal for overnight stay for viewing Fox Glacier only 5 mins drive down the road Several eateries within walking distance.

A further 150 m out of town than all the other properties but far better with better views and magnificent staff. Everything was perfect.

We arrived quite late, so although the office was closed there was a notice with my name on it with instructions on how to access the room. The room was clean and comfortable. A cozy spot to rest for the night. Would be a comfortable stay if we were here longer.

Really nice motel, the nicest bathroom I came across in 8 different rooms. Incredibly good value. Friendly dog concierge, and Scottish owner was incredibly helpful regarding viewing locations of local attractions. Highly recommended.
