That I'm aware this is the best place in this area. It's a former Hyatt. There is a new Sheraton nearby which I haven't stayed at but is also probably good. Big good shopping mall a couple blocks away and good Arab food nearby and my favorite restaurant Casa Armas a few blocks away with Spanish food. The area around the hotel is all kind od honky tonk karaoke bars and generally very low end and down and out and girls on their last dollar. I wouldn't take my wife there. I like this hotel because it's smack in the middle and pool facing rooms are very quiet. My stay was downright cheap. Good value for money.

I was truly disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The overall condition of the property is extremely outdated and does not justify the high price being charged. One of the main reasons I booked this hotel was for the swimming pool, only to find it completely out of service — with no alternatives like an indoor pool, sauna, or even a basic wellness facility.
To make matters worse, there was ongoing construction work throughout my stay, which was loud and extremely disruptive during the day. It made relaxing in the hotel nearly impossible.
What made the whole experience even worse is that my booking was for 6 nights and was non-refundable — otherwise, I would have left after the first night. Unfortunately, this stay was a major letdown and definitely not worth the value

The room looks really nice and the service and staffs are excellent that compliments my concerns. The only complaint I have was the mildew all over the shower and the smell of mildew inside the room was really strong as soon as you come in. I was really concerned because that is health hazard. I told the clean up guy about the molds but he didn’t do anything about it, i guess that’s not his concern and i just left it alone.

it wasnt a pleasant stay. they didnt give a guest satisfaction kind of service. if we didnt demand to be transferred to a different room, they would just have let us stay in a room with a non working aircon. we had to call 3 times. first, they sent a mechanical staff to check what was wrong. then he came back with a ladder to check the ceiling. it took him more than 30 mins but no difference in the temp happened.
on our last call, we asked for a manager because the staff seems not to know how to make thing right with the guests.
Manager Erica, if i remember her name correct came in around 9pm to assist us to transfer to a differrent room. it would have been a ni e gesture until she made an unnecessary comment giving off a vibe that it was not an option for them. 🙄🙄🙄
also, the hair dryer didnt work in the washroom, but it worked in the bedroom. the outlet might be the issue. a garbage bin by the washroom sink would have been convenient too.
breakfast options was so-so. there were a lot of staff in the breakfast buffet but only few were attentive.
overall experience was not what was expected.

The hotel has been undergoing renovations for some time, and will be for the foreseeable future. Some things are outdated or showing their age, I had 2 shower wall tiles fall off while I was there. The staff is very professional and polite, you couldn’t ask for more as far as they are concerned. Once the renovations are complete this will absolutely be a 5 star rating for most us that stay here.

The hotel was wonderful. The staff is the best part. The dining onsite is good. The area outside is very crowded and not safe to just walk around and site see. You will get robbed or rundown if you are not careful. Take taxi’s and watch out. But the hotel was lovely. Easy to get tours etc.
