I'd give the Golden Tulip six stars if I could. We arrived early at about 9am but they were able to give us a room, even upgrading us to a very nice suite. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and in good working order. We don't normally eat breakfast but the buffet was only 50 QAR per person, about $50 USD and had a nice combination of Western and Middle Eastern (which I prefer) offerings. The hotel is very convenient to the Souq Waqif, major museums, the Corniche, and the cruise port. Next time in Doha we will definitely stay here!

I had over 12hrs stopover in Doha so I have decided to book here to rest, relax, dine, etc. instead of waiting at the airport for my flight back to NY. I expected to find a nice room in a hotel that's advertised to be 5-star. This hotel is more on 3,star. It had a kitchenette, and carpeting was washed out. The bathroom was small. Worst was the absence of an electrical outlet that I could use to charge my cellphone and laptop. The staff were nice but I have decided to check out by 0530pm.
