Turned out to be an excellent choice for a 5* near the haram. A lot of the service level was generally 5* standard. Dinner was very good (half board). House cleaning and room service were excellent. The dedicated lifts to the Haram make this a fairly fast choice for getting downstairs for prayer. Breakfast was just okay and there were not very many hotel facilities. Concierge was good.

Alle sind sehr hilfsbereit und toll.
Rezeption – Zimmerservice – Concierge-Service, besonders Abdelaziz.
Du bist weniger als 100 Meter von der Heiligen Moschee entfernt.
Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und ordentlich. Ich empfehle sehr, ein Zimmer mit Kaaba-Blick 🕋 zu nehmen.
Es ist wirklich beruhigend für die Seele.

The Guest Relation at the Reception was very polite and helpful ... The restaurant serve variety international buffet and the staff are polite and helpful... the housekeeping staff was make up the room to tip-top & excellent condition ... If i ever come to Makkah again i will definitely book this hotel ... Barakallah Feequm

All together excellent and well maintained. Very walkable to Kaaba--the main reason why we stayed.
However, there was a heavy chain smoker on our floor, evident by the constant cigarette smell in the lobby and hallways. I complained to the front desk twice, but the smell persisted :( We were not informed on the RSVP that this was a smoking floor--if there is such a thing at this hotel.

Stay at this place in swissotel Al Maqam was a nightmare not because of the property or room cleanliness just because of the staff specially duty manager is soo arrogant and unfriendly named Ahmed we got into a little trouble and told him about it but he didn't listen to any of our trouble i wont suggest anyone to stay at this property. We had various issues staying in this property and not a single one got addressed sorry swissotel Al Maqam very atrocious service

I stayed with my family in one of the standard rooms, we asked for baby crib/cot for our one year old and after placing him inside, we heard him crying and noticed that the cot had a hole in the side and he was falling out with his head and arm. This is extremely dangerous and unsafe and when I complained to the hotel employees, I was just given an apology. The glory days of this hotel are over, I am never staying at Swissotel again and will be sure to take legal action for this incident with the corporate office.
