Holiday Inn Express EDINBURGH - ROYAL MILE by IHG, an IHG Hotel

Convenient for visiting Edinburgh.

Great location near High Street and the University.

The AC in my room was not working and upon complaining the night staff (Martin) told me to open windows which seemed unreasonable and I didn’t agree to it. He then told me to talk to Expedia because I booked through them. The hotel told Expedia that I need to check out at 12 in the night if I’m uncomfortable which made this hotel very unreliable for me. Hotel never issued any refund for the uncomfortable stay but Expedia did compensate me with some amount for the discomfort. Breakfast here was hot and fresh but they don’t keep enough quantity and don’t refill. They also wrap up atleast 30mins before the closure time. So we need to get up early to have a good breakfast.

Great location close to old town. Safe. Old building, but fine.

The property was perfect to visit the places of interest.

The hotel was close to the Waverly train station and the Royal Mile. It was far enough away from the busy tourist area that it was quiet at night. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good too. Got the day started well. Because of bad weather, our train to return to London was canceled and thw staff was helpful with extending our staff at the last minute.

The property is centrally located and was easy to walk to from the station and was close to the Royal Mile. The room and bathroom was clean.

Located one street over from the Royal Mile. Convenient and clean. Breakfast was a nice start to each day.

Staff top to bottom were friendly & helpful. Bed was comfortable. WiFi was easy.

Bed was not comfortable, pretty sure there was mould in apple juice from dispensers

Hard beds, no A/C, no ice, no phone in the room, arrogant lying desk agent(woman), Birsen was the only one who tried to help

Hotel was in a good location on the Royal Mile. Very walkable to restaurants and bars. Hotel was ok for a budget hotel. Nothing fancy.

very small room. first floor rooms are below well travelled alley. People walking by all hours. Rooms are hot and can't open the windows because of busy alley.
