Hesperia Sant Joan

This is NOT a hotel…it is a apartment converted to hotel liked setup…it is outdated…it is far to city central…need to account for 50 minutes or more if you are planning to take public transit to city central and to the airport…but there are taxi service across the street from the hotel

Good size property but didn’t provide enough number of towels, difficult self check-in, terrible sofa. Good location, easy to get to town center.

This hotel is half way between the airport & the city center so the cost is in the middle ground. It's across from a hospital and among residential high rises so it's quiet and seems safe. The amenities is adequate for a kitchenette. It offers a separate bedroom and an extra bed in the living room for 3 of us and it's roomy. For cleanliness it's average but the drawers have debris and greasy stain inside so we live out of our suit cases for 3 nights. Now the worst part is the bathroom. It's ok overall but the bath tub is only half enclosed with a glass panel. A shower rod is hung across the middle of the tub with no shower curtain. It requires very careful dmaneuver to avoid flooding the floor on a good day. However, the flexible hose for the shower head was broken at the base of the handle so water was splashing everywhere. The front desk was only manned between 12 noon to 8 pm. There's not an emergency phone number posted in the room so we ended up temporarily patching it up with plastic bags & twist ties and ran at minimum water flow for our showers. Communication with the hotel was non existent. We were going to arrive Barcelona way before the check-in time so we sent an email to ask if there's storage facilities on site for our luggage so that we don't have to wait at the lobby for 5-6 hours. There's no response. When we arrived, there only a automatic check-in machine at the front door to greet us but our reservation was not to be found until the check-in time

A hotel where time including condition has stood still. Even repairs are not carried out. There was something broken about all the furniture. The windows could be slid open like that, couldn't be locked either. The view of a balcony where a hoarder lives. The thermostat did not work, it stayed 25 degrees or warmer in the room. The bathroom was downright filthy. The shaving residue from our previous one was still against the wall. When you had showered it got even hotter in the room. The next day, the bathroom was still full of condensation. The towels were changed after 3 nights. Only the dirty ones they did not take away. So a pile of bath towels in the bathroom that was a sight to behold. On arrival, we were not even let in by guest service. Another customer had to let us in. When we asked how to check in, we were very surly and impersonally told that this could only be done digitally with a sign-in column. After leaving the hotel, we even had to ask how to get back in. They had not passed on the numerical code the day before. You could literally hear your neighbours and the rest of the corridor. Even your neighbours' microwave oven can be heard in your room.

Facilities are good, it's fair enough for the money which I paid. Big suggestion it's to add some child safety at the windows, it's very dangerous for kids, windows are opening without effort.

Staff was friendly, Property needs maintenance and they really need to make sure guests respect noise hours, we have 2 babies and those people made too much noise, screaming, laughing until 5 am and nobody there to help from staff.

The accommodations were located in a nice area with a locked entrance. Our unit was spacious. The negatives of the unit were dirty and sometimes cracked yellow paint, bad pillows, a little dirty and a bathroom that was functional but not pretty. Overall a decent place but not great.

OK location. Wish it was closer to the underground metro as I had to take the above ground line to get to the underground. The above ground line of course is slower. Property itself was very nice and in what appeared to be a very safe part of town from what I could see

We checked into the hotel and got our room key and the room was absolutely destroyed - clothes, plastic bags, and towels everywhere. we were given a new room but the new room had no electricity and we had to use only one small light which was the only one that worked. everything else we had to do in the dark. then, on the second night we got locked out of our room and our reservation was deleted because they didn’t update in their system that we got a new room. it took about 1.5hrs to finally break through to someone via phone call from customer service to get our key re-registered and to make it into our hotel. also, the water in this hotel smelled insanely bad and everything was musty. I would not recommend staying here as a traveler.

Good price

The surrounding was very good, quiet, tranquil, safe. Close to several bus stops, and taxis. The attention was poor, no customer service oriented. It lacked cleanliness in the common areas, and the frequency of housekeeping was low. A lot to improve.

The location was great, very clean, shopping and walk around was the best. Overall I really enjoyed the stay at this property.

The location is perfect for quiet sleep and bus access to any destination. Just wish there was better communication as to how to enter building. Front desk only manned in the evening, we arrived early from flight, hoping to store luggage and start exploring. Couldn’t do it until after 12. Then no one told us the code to open front door. Room was very dated but manageable, just wish the safe and hair dryer were operable. Beds were comfortable enough to rest well. There are very few restaurants nearby but plenty throughout the city, so not a big problem, just plan accordingly. Bathroom lacks ventilation so mildew on grout lines is evident, again, no big deal for us. Small fridge works well for cooling beverages or perishable items. All in all, not a bad place to stay, specially for quiet nights. Just don’t expect any degree of luxury.

Los departamentos son muy seguros y confortables con cocineta y refrigerador lo unico es que sí estan retirados de la zona centro y solo por esta razon no lo recomiendo si van en plan de turista.

This is a hotel goes beyond our expectation and the friendly staff not only answered our questions in a very timely manner but also help us to address luggage storage problem that blocking us from going to Rome due to airline’s constraints. kudos to their efficiency and customer service centric management and reception is always available during their business hour, we are also impressed by the self check in machine that works magically. We will highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay at up town Barcelona, don’t forget to that there is bus L77 to at can take you to Airport with 2.55 Euro in a 4 mins walking distance.
