The hotel manager and staff are helpful and friendly, explaining the details of the room facilities and recommending places for us to walk around. Perfect view and stay in Kaohsiung, will come again.

5 stars for the sea view

The property is located in a high rise building with a perfect view to see the sea port as well as the sun set if the weather permitted. Walking distance to nearest subway is like 10 mins walks, and 5 mins walk to the light rail system. We have to take 2 elevators to reach the unit which is on the 31 floor, but it is ok. Definitely not a hotel setup, but the cleaning staff did clean the room daily, but we told the staff not to do it on the 2nd day as due to privacy. There were a bit of smoking smell at the corridor and inside the room. But overall, it is a good price with perfect seaport view. I will recommend if someone does not require a perfect hotel style staying.

Not a true hotel. No front desk services to speak of. Requires two elevators to get to room. Room and bathroom were fine but the building made it a bit tedious to get your room. As a foreigner, I dealt with a lot of looks "are you in the right place." Again, it's not a traditional hotel but more like rooms for short term rental. I was also pressured to pay more, which I didn't, because my room rate was "an error." At check in, there were a lot of rules that I ignored. I'm going to wear shoes where I want to. I'm going to use my AC how I want to. Etc. good location but I won't stay here again.

Police presence at the property makes it a bit worrying. But overall it was a great stay as the view is great and the location is convenient. I would consider a good value for the price

I was stuck in Kaohsiung for three days because of a typhoon and it was the perfect place from which to watch the storm happening. It won’t be for everyone as it’s in a quirky 85 story building which is mostly empty. That in itself, for me, gave it character, and a sense of adventure. The people managing the rooms were also very nice and helpful! I visit Kaohsiung often and this will be my choice for a place to stay.

Great value hotel. Amazing view of the city. Room was huge and the staff were really helpful and generous. 9 minute walk to MRT and 5 minutes to the tram. Some delicious food places nearby too. Only downsides are a fairly old fashioned decor, and you need to wait 10 minutes between each person showering in order to let the hot water accumulate.

We've stayed at 85 Sky Tower multiple times since 2015 and have always had friendly hosts. This time, we happened to get a host that was rude and not accommodating. The elevator broke down on our first night there, leaving us stranded in the hallway for over 5 hours. We ultimately had to climb 20 flights of stairs to get to our room. We stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks during our trip to Kaohsiung and the host/manager was very unpleasant and rude. That was the worst part of the stay.

Ok to be there and gave a view on the harbour as well a stay in the iconic 85 tower. Don't park there, find a parking space near by, hotel is more a business suit, warm water for 15min, sourounding has seen better times but ok (2020)

Good location and site. But management and first impression is bad

i like the scenic view. However the condition and furnishing of the room is quite old. The mattress is uncomfortable and worn out. The furniture is old and torn at the edges. it will be good if the hotel can undergo renovation into a modern theme.

Converted office suites on mid levels of an all but abandoned skyscraper. Was like an Airbnb but without a lot of the amenities you'd expect. View was great, location convenient to the convention centre. Room could have been cleaner and the bathroom smelled of sewerage occasionally .

Value for money. Good location.

The hotel is quite centralised and the staff is helpful anf pleasing. The lay out of the room is quite big and provided the basic things like toiletries , coffee and tea. If you dont mind the fittings are a bit old, nothing much to complain for such a cheap price.

Must choose the room with windows watching outside. It is perfect. We had paid and upgraded the room. Contact the property in order to upgrade it. The agent has no much choice for the rooms. WiFi is excellent. TV channels are various choices. The only thing is the hairdryers are always sucks. We have changed 3 hairdryers but still smelling of burning plastic.

Really nice location - near to night market. Clean and nice room. Lots of power sockets. Friendly staff who were very helpful.
