It was a weekend getaway. As I am working in a more rural part of Kaohsiung, I try to getaway every weekend. Compared to the previous backpackers, I find tripGG more comfortable for the following reasons: 1) There is a lift that goes up to the level of the backpackers (good if you have a few heavy luggages) 2) the bed is the highlight, it is alot more comfortable than the last backpackers I stayed in - that one had a thin mattress and was hard. 3) They actually offered me a towel when I check in. 4) the toilet is more spacious with nice shower. 5) there is also a good spacious activity area with good view of the city. I will stay again.

Excellent location, escalator up from Formosa Exit 1.

Amazing location right outside KMRT Formosa Boulevard Station and a few blocks from Liuhe night market. Reception was courteous but not super detailed. Rooms lock with a physical key. In-room locker (same as room key) was big enough for my backpack. Bunks had a decent curtain (though top bunk's curtains do not go up to the ceiling), power outlet, light, and small shelf about big enough for glasses/toothbrush/phone. The light plugged into one of the two outlets, though, and I had to unplug it to be able to fit my charger. The first room I was assigned had an unbearable smell of smoke. I closed the window and turned on the AC just in case it was coming in from outside, but when I returned later that night, it was still too much. I asked the front desk for a different room, they gave it to me with no hassle, and it was fine, no sign of smoke. The next morning I overheard the receptionist telling a hosteler he wouldn't be allowed to return because of smoke problems; I'm not 100% sure this was related to my original room but I think it's likely. It was a bad experience, but I'm willing to assume this was not an ongoing problem. The bathroom seemed a little worn - small rust or stains on out of the way corners. Room ceilings were also not quite finished, with rough concrete in some places. TripGG will hold luggage for you in a locked room, but there's no system for them to know which bags are yours.

The dorm room is quite nice and a curtain is installed for each bunk bed. The common area is really nice and comfortable and has a great view of the Formosa Blvd metro station area. The shared shower/toilet area leaves a little to be desired, the way it is located does not offer much privacy, and it would be so mucn better if there were a separation between shower area and toilet area.

Very near to MRT station and night market. Only 20 minutes train ride from the airport.

以前に比べて、老朽化してしまったのは仕方がないですが、値段、スタッフの丁寧さ、立地などを考えると、とても良いホステルだと思います。

令人失望的是，工作人員在晚上離開之前沒有留下一條毛巾。
