Koh Ngai Thanya Beach Resort

Best stay of our trip. The resort is the best on the island as it is nice with a big white sandy Beach but also closest to the good snorkeling. The food of the restaurant was fantastic and we felt safe leaving money and Kindles and phones in our room and on the beach in the bungalows. There is not a lot of people on the island and it was really relaxing! Highly recommend it! I think the only drawback that I can think of is maybe not allowing motorbikes on the resort until 8:30 or 9:00 a.m. otherwise fantastic!

A great resort on a wonderful Thai Island, Good swimming and snorkelling. Friendly helpful staff and good food. Oriental Beach cottages are great with lovely sea views

I think the most important thing to remember is that this is a 3 star resort and therefore, should be judged on being a 3 star resort. Having said that, there were some parts of the resort that could do with some fixing up, such as the verandahs on the front of vlllas (loose boards, wear and tear), the shower was pretty old and not maintained... They have a sign asking you not to flush your toilet paper down the toilet and to place it in the basket next to the toilet instead. A lot of these island resorts really need to sort out their septic problems. I felt that the room was quite expensive for what you got but we did go at peak tourist time, just after New Years Day. The restaurant was good and we really liked most of the food we ate there. I'd skip the croissants at breakfast as they appeared to have been frozen and thawed out and then warmed up... The pool was really dirty with mould growing around the outside of it and on the first day we were there I saw a pile of sludge floating in the top of the pool water. This is definitely a "family" resort and the pool was always occuppied by a lot of children. There were not enough beach chairs for all of the guests and it's very annoying how a lot of guests appear to get up super early to put their towels all over the best chairs and then leave them like that until they feel like using them later in the day. The hotel should implement a 1 hour non use policy like other hotels have.

Best hotel on the island without a doubt. With the best but if sea out front too - much less rocky than down the beach

Everything was amazing. Nicest hotel on the island.

The overall experience was excellent. Very nice bungalows, pool and gardens. The restaurant was correct as well, probably offering even more at the peak of the season (only 5 bungalows on dozens were occupied this weekend). Staff extremely nice and helping. Only remark : the beach would need more attention and being cleaned daily even twice a day if necessary, again, apparently they don't it as there are not many guests at the moment...

Our stay in the Thanya hotel was very pleasant: Koh Ngai is beautiful, very green and quiet; the hotel is located on a beautiful beach (nice reef/fishes) + nice garden; the rooms were nice, clean; the staff was helpful; the food was good.

Great location on idyllic beach with nice reef just off the shore in tranquil blue waters. Hotel was clean and comfortable with good facilities.

Second visit here and it didn't disappoint! Blissful time on a truly beautiful island. The beach is great and you can snorkel right from the coast. Nice bungalows and good restaurant. Would recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing break in paradise!!

Spent 6 days on early Nov 2017. First impression was good, because the airport transfer was on time and well managed. All Koh Ngai's staff 100% friendly and helpful. I loved the pool and the snorkeling possibilities. Wifi is available all around the property and not only in the room or lobby. I loved that place!

Island beautiful, accommodation absolutely discusting, stayed in a stilted bungalow 405,accommodation really dated holes in the walls think TV might of been there, bedding had brown stains on it we asked them to change an told it's because they wash in brown water!! curtains all ripped bathroom tiles and grout never seen any bleach,sunbed mattresses ripped dirty never saw anyone cleaning them,brown water coming out of taps and the toilet, broken crockery, fabric around buffet tables all dirty and stained,we didn't eat,have massage or spend any money there as hygiene cleanliness so bad,if we hadn't of already prepaid for room we wouldn't of stayed there,we've travelled around thailand so we know standard n things can b shabby but this was worst place we've stayed at and feel totally ripped off,should be hostel price not hotel price

After 10 days in crowded Phuket and Phi Phi- Thanya was gloriously quiet! We loved the quaint slow atmosphere. Walking down the beach for food and drinks much better than driving a scooter in crowded streets. The staff at Thanya are outstanding! Our cottage was great- comfortable and clean! And the beachfront infinity pool is exceptional, beauty that belongs in a magazine! I would strongly recommend staying here. There were quite a few families with young children.

On the beach, looks nice and fresh but rooms are outdated. Not the best shower + room not entirely sealed - bags and mosquitos could easily pass through. Breakfast was horrible (flies on all fruits and vegetables). The worst I had. If it would be 3rd of the price I would rate the hotel much higher.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Very quiet and relaxing, and even though it was fully booked it felt empty. Very rustic feel about it. Staff were wonderful.

this was a one night layover from Koh Lipe to be closer to our airport for an early flight the next morning. We decided to try Koh Ngai since we had already visited Krabi and Koh Lanta. It was just fine for our needs, however please be advised that this island is still quite underdeveloped and this was a very rustic property. It felt a lot like camping.

Very kind staff, clean and nice room, nice swimming pool. Everything was perfect.

We asked the reception to book a private boat back to Trang for us and she quoted us 2,600 baht. I thought it was a bit high so I asked around. The Fantasy Resort next door only quoted me 1,500 baht. Others are fine.

This is one of the most wonderful hotels that I've been to. At front desk "S" and "Fam" are very friendly and helpful. Hotel is right on the beach. Staff are friendly. Restaurant is great. The views are astonishing. Breakfast is huge and delicious. Worth going to the national park. Snorkeling at your door step!
