Great stay at Mandala house. The staff were always very helpful with any request such as letting us borrow some cutlery and bowls for our own food. Area is nice and very accessible to lots around by foot. Pool was a great place to cool off at during hot days

We didn't hate it, but the rooms lacked warmth - felt a bit like a hotel prison. It was older than it looked in the pictures and not super clean. The beds were pretty hard (we typically prefer firm beds but this was hard). The pools is actually accross the street and theres only 4 chairs, so limited seating, but it wasnt busy when we were there. We stayed in toher similar priced places for much better in my opinion.

Great staff and locstion

Couldn't be happier. Hotel staff are very nice and sweet, represent Chiang Mai very well. Good location with amazing night market 10 min walk. Room was very clean and spacious, we ordered a massive food delivery and ate comfortably! Bathroom was very nice and updated also. Mandala house will be booked again for my next Chiang Mai visit :)

The people were very nice, but the property was run down, the beds were hard and old. Old mattresses in the hall-wall, not well lite, ashtray on all the tables. You either had hot or cold water. Plus side, good location, very nice people. Could be a great property if it was maintained and cleaned up.

Nice and comfy room. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Location is good... near to Night Market and to the Phae Gate and also train station.

Quiet..Close all you will. Simple but comfortable ..Small pool which is great after a day out. Breakfast sufficient.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was big, with a nice bathroom. Everything was clean. There was a balcony with a table and two chairs. The air condition worked great, as well as the TV, which has many channels. The room had a bar size fridge, a nice, hot shower and a big bathtub. There is also an nice, clean swimming pool. Excellent value for the money. It is also in a very convenient location, within walking distance to Loi Khroh, Night Bazaar, as well as the moat and old city.

Currently undergoing slow, renovations, and as such is noisy and the quiet ambience has been muchly disturbed. But they are necessary as the place has been run down and very tired for some time now. Hopefully can bring Mandala House back to the good old days without a hefty price increase.

Location is good.. walking distance to nearby super markets, streets markets.

The room itself was OK, however, there was no outer window. There was 1 window which led into the corridor so there was no privacy when drawing the curtains, so we kept it shut. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The bathroom had lots of mold on the ceiling, which looks like it could have been easily removed but it seems that there is a theme of avoiding crucial maintenance in this hotel. The sink also clogged up frequently and for long durations. The worst part of the hotel was definitely the swimming pool. It was the most digusting pool of water I've ever seen - lots of dirty, oily gunk floating around everywhere and a large brown area at the bottom on one side. The chairs were all dirty as well, and the pool area generally was not maintained at all, so it was very uncomfortable to stay there. Also, the pool is on the other side of the road and not actually connected to the hotel. I would strongly advise against staying here, even if you find a good deal.

Place was not as expected. I expected it to be nicer for the price. Room was large and friendly staff are the positives. Light in room was buzzing, AC difficult to control, and walls are thin as you can hear people outside easily.
