Afon Gwyn Country House

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Afon Gwyn Country House. The host was exceptional, welcoming, attentive, and full of helpful local tips that made our visit extra special. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with every detail carefully thought through. Parking was easy and convenient on-site, and the location couldn’t be better for exploring the area, with beautiful walks, cozy pubs, and great attractions just a short drive away. The breakfasts were outstanding, delicious, beautifully prepared, and a real start for the day. We couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommended!

We stayed here for two nights whilst doing some local hiking. We cannot recommend this place highly enough for the moment we arrived to the time we left they were super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back!

Lovely friendly hosts

Booked a 3 day stay at Afon Gwyn and there was no negatives, all positives from the moment we arrived. Hosts Gareth and Rana were most welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The room was clean the bed comfortable and the shower excellent and easy to use. Well Situated within easy reach of most places you would want to visit including mount Snowdon. Excellent hearty breakfast that will set you up for the day cooked by Rana and brought to your table by Gareth with his excellent dry sense of humour. We hope to return later in the year if that doesn’t happen then we will next year. Thank you Gareth and Rana, we loved our stay.

We were greeted by Gareth & Rana with a warm and friendly welcome. Excellent choice of delicious breakfasts. Highly recommended and will definitely return.

Everything was wonderful. Room was fabulous, very comfortable bed and quiet location. Breakfasts were delicious. Cannot fault anything and the owners were most hospitable. We will be return guests.

Highly recommend! A luxury stay, beautiful surroundings and Gareth and Rana are wonderful hosts. Breakfast options are amazing and you certainly won't go hungry. We stayed in the Alice suite. Very comfortable, spacious and lots of added touches. Thickest luxurious towels!

What an amazing place to stay! Both Gareth & Rana were amazing hosts and very welcoming. The property was outstanding, and could not fault any of our stay. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. If you want to visit Snowdon and the area, this is the place to stay.

From the moment you arrive, you're greeted with a warm smile. The room is incredibly spacious and even has a cozy seating area to enjoy some TV. The pristine bathroom amplifies the feeling of comfort. Additionally, the breakfast options are not only delicious but also cater to vegetarians.

The hosts were really hospitable. The room was very nice with all amenities required, including a dressing gown and slippers. There was many different choices for breakfast and the food was excellent. Our intolerances of Gluten, Dairy and Egg were well catered for. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Very much enjoyed our 2 night stay. We had read the fantastic reviews so had high expectations, glad to say we weren’t disappointed. Gareth and Rana are great hosts, friendly and welcoming, our room was well equipped and spotlessly clean. The hearty breakfast is reason enough to stay in itself, extremely generous and cooked to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break and would highly recommend.

This property and its hosts are simply wonderful. The location is superb - an easy walk into the village by the river, and surrounded by Snowdonia’s fabulous walking trails. Gareth and Rana are wonderful. We felt warmly welcomed from the minute we arrived. We were helped with our bags and treated like royalty. The room was huge and very comfortable, the bathroom was luxurious, the breakfast cooked to order was the best we’ve had in 2 months of travel. Rana and Gareth have the rare gift of knowing when to stay and chat and when to give their guests some space. They have a natural way of recognising the needs of each individual traveller. We could not speak more highly of our experience here and only wish we could have stayed longer. Sarah

Good communication with hosts who had lots of tips for eating and trips out. Spacious room with great toiletries and tea and coffee. Good location for walking to Betws-y-coed in 20 mins. Would love to go back

1st time here but it won't be the last. Hosts Gareth and Rana were so welcoming and hospitable from the very start and throughout our stay. The room and bathroom were beautifully decorated and very clean. Breakfast was delicious. It is located in a peaceful location a short walk away from Betws-y-coed centre. We would highly recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed. Thank you both for making our break so special.

A wonderful stay for 4 nights - the property is situated just out of the main area of Betws-y-coed which was brilliant as the town was crazy busy all the time - it was good to be able to get away. Garth and Rana are wonderful hosts - we highly recommend staying at this property if you get the chance. 5 Star Services :)
